I think I read that 82% of the ninth circuit rulings are eventually overturned.

The rulings are meaningless.

Neither have meant a thing except to give ‘very fake news’ something to squawk about.

Good, Texas needs to get it together. Even though they’re still miles ahead of California, the liberals there have managed to carve out a lot of money for illegals. Up to $10 billion a year from Texas alone.

9th circus is federal and this is a state law coming on the books. And they don’t cover Texas anyway. No jurisdiction.

The Circus doesn’t have jurisdiction in Texas.

Texas is covered by the 5th Circuit, not the 9th.

Why does Texas need this law? Aren’t sanctuary cities already illegal by definition?

I would imagine that Federal laws cover most of the crimes committed by those who run sanctuary cities - never hurts to have State laws that mesh with Federal laws.

Waiting for the decision to turn Sessions loose on those who run the sanctuary cities and break federal laws.

I hope it passes. Fort Worth needs a good cleaning.

I still don’t get why having additional laws helps? Federal laws are already there and they’re not being followed. What makes anyone think they will follow State laws if they aren’t following the Federal laws to begin with?

For one, the State's pushing the new laws are tired of the Feds not doing their job - it's why I also keep advocating turning Sessions loose on those who run the sanctuary cities. A few years back, Perry vowed to protect Texas borders if the Feds wouldn't - he eventually caved but it would have been interesting for the Feds to try to prosecute him for doing what they refused to do in order to be compliant with the laws of the Land.

A really stupid bit was back then and the Congress was trying to pas a Bill saying that they would prosecute those who broke our immigration laws - that was truly stupid when the obvious solution was to just prosecute under the actual law.

I understand your comment though - we really need less laws, but the States deciding to make it legal for them to do what the Feds won't is not a bad thing.
