WND ^ | 4/23/2017 | Art Moore

With the emergence of Rupert Murdoch’s politically progressive son, James, in the leadership of his media empire and the unceremonious exits from Fox News of CEO Roger Ailes and now flagship anchor Bill O’Reilly, the cable-news powerhouse’s niche as an alternative to the left-leaning CNN, MSNBC and broadcast networks is suddenly in question.

FNC is a cash cow and demolishes all other cable news channels in ratings wars. Why would Murdoch destror a successful business like this by turning it into a failure like CNN?

So Fox News is going to try to morph into CNN. What a genius move [/s]. Does Mr. Murdoch imagine that their audience will just remain loyal? Looks like Shepard Smith will be getting a big promotion [barf].

It won’t work and junior is stupid to try it. After decades of mocking it as “faux” news no lefties are going anywhere near it, and having been sabotaged and betrayed the right will turn away in droves.

Say goodnight Gracie...

You are right on target!!! FNC & FBN are toast. Murdoch has allowed his two moron sons destroy the most powerful cable TV networks in the world!!!

However...I fear not ...another “true” conservative Cable TV network will emerge quickly and will become the industry leader within a year or two!!! Rupert Murdoch has killed what he worked so hard to create!!! Go figure!!!

The progressives are authoritarian. The election of Trump has shaken them badly and they are busy eliminating any hint of democracy or a republic.

By positioning Fox slightly to the right of the other networks, he scoops up half the viewing public while all the rest divide the left half among them, each competing for a tiny slice.

It was smart businesswise. By shifting left, though, he now scraps for the same audience as the rest of them while leaving himself open for someone else to shift to the right of him and take his old audience.

Conservatives should all boycott FoxNews now, immediately. Let the Murdoch twits discover that they have destroyed the cash cow. Don’t let them benefit from the entity they have betrayed and don’t deserve.

Actually I think cable television is going away at some point.

Fox in very strong now, but cable is not going to lead forever.

Look for an internet option, to replace it at some point.

“Why Fox News to become more like CNN

Because viewer support shows that CNN is the most popular and profitable news operations, so who wouldnt copy their track record of success? If one CNN is popular than why not have two?

To be honest, I never really liked the Fox formula, which was to let a “conservative” talking head scream it out with really stupid leftist shills.

I just want a news source that is as unbiased as humanly possible. And that seems to be of no interest to any news agency.

OAN is an excellent network. It won’t be long before they become a little more polished and catch the eye of viewers.

He's gambling on winning a worldwide global audience.

Probably, he's also gambling that he can break into the institutional side of the business -- getting shown in airports, hospitals, gyms, etc.

And also gambling that he can lose a few voters stateside without tanking the whole operation.

And gambling that some domestic outfit to the right of FNC won't be professional enough to pull away many US viewers.

All in all, it's quite a gamble.
