I had thought that we were the highest here in in WA, but saw here that PA did have us “beat” (so to speak):

WE have to settle for #2.
Leavenworth? Heh, I used to go there a lot to see the make-a-buck festivals. I’ve driven and motorcycled most of the roads north of i-5 and west of Ritzville.
And the Tri-cities and Dayton. Only mostly driven through Spokane, though I danced on live television there in 1961.
Quincy?
We’re all gonna die if the price of oil doesn’t stop going up and down from tiny changes in supply and demand.
We don’t have that problem in Indiana as there is no public transport.
As for “metro transit,” under no business model does it ever operate at a break-even level. It always requires a subsidy. Of course, once a government becomes responsible in perpetuity for whatever shortfall takes place, the incentive for efficient operation disappears. It’s an unnatural business model. So once you have it, public transport will always be a giant expenditure sump.
Been through Quincy a few times. Also Ephrata a few times. Cle Elum is kind of fun, too. Had grandparents in Ellensburg for many years...since passed away.....
Done some motorbiking around here, too. The ride around Lake Coeur d’Alene (ID) is awesome and easily done in one day. Lots of nice curves and great views of the lake. BTW, gas in Idaho is about 40 cents/gal less typically than here in WA. Almost worth the drive to fill up for us.
AND YET, gasoline has gone from 2.00/gal to 2.30/gal.
And you, like us, are driving on impeccably engineered highways as smooth as silk, right? /sarc
Diesel was down 5 cents today at the pump to $2.84/gal
Our Governor (Scott Walker, R, WI) is trying HARD to stop adding taxes to our gasoline price for road repair.
Our roads are REALLY a mess these days, thanks to DECADES of the do-nothing Socialists running this state and basically STEALING from our Transportation Fund every chance they got.
It’s a mess with no easy end in sight. They’re to the point where they’re talking Toll Roads. Blech!
We’d BETTER not become ‘Illinois Light’ after all the strides we’ve made! We flipped our state to Red for Trump; a state that was assuredly The Beast’s!
Best. Election. Ever. And more good news? Governor Walker is going to run for a third term. Yippee! :)
I filled my car up almost a week ago in Fillmore Ca. $3.50 a gallon. Thanks California!
About a month ago it was below $2 here in North Central Texas and had been for about a year. Always creeps up this time of year when the government forces the refiners to reformulate.
Forgot to say.....for premium. Both our cars require it.
Once in a great while I’ll treat, ‘My Girl’ (’Black Beauty’ - Ford Escape XLT) to a tank of Premium...
...if Beau is paying! ;)
OK. I’m sorry. We can’t be friends. :(
But we COULD be friends if you gave me a ride in EITHER of your cars, LOL! :)
The most luxurious car I’ve ever owned was a Jetta of some kind. Day-um, that car was fun to drive on curvy Wisconsin backroads - and I’ve driven The Autobahn at 100+ when stationed in Germany in the mid-80’s.
But that Jetta had SO MANY fuel-injector problems that I had to be towed more often than not. VW REALLY dropped the ball on that one.
