China criticizes North Korea, praises US on nuclear issue

China may be getting fed up with continued nuclear bluster from long-time ally North Korea and tilting toward the United States.

A day after North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister said Pyongyang would test missiles weekly and use nuclear weapons if threatened, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Beijing was "gravely concerned" about North Korea's recent nuclear and missile activities. In the same press conference, spokesman Lu Kang praised recent US statements on the North Korean issue.

"American officials did make some positive and constructive remarks... such as using whatever peaceful means possible to resolve the (Korean) Peninsula nuclear issue. This represents a general direction that we believe is correct and should be adhered to," Lu said.

This is very important.

Apparently Trump was able to negotiate with China, when the president of China visited.

Trump has his priorities straight and understands the criticality of the NK situation and the best way of dealing with it.

Let’s not count our General Tso’s chickens until they are hatched. Trump doing a great job. China calling for a peaceful resolution only. Peaceful may not resolve the NK threat. China may know that. We will see.

Trump factor is the reason. Criticality?

... which means China will do nothing about NK. This is just flowery language in support of talk and no action on NK.

Trump did more with China in two days than other Presidents have done in 40 years.

Can anyone imagine this last fall under Obama, that China would be critical of the Norks, and praising the USA?

Holy jeepers, this is weird and most likely good but remarkable hence the remark. The Chinese like and know Trump in fact they helped him get elected by making it look like the Russians blah blah... actually I think the Chinese like Trump because they have their 4 or 5 principles on foriegn policy and understand Trump is their repectful competition - "you get what you tolerate" said Confusedised and ancient practicitioner of Doitism

Now president Trump has had a dramatic affect on how this is all going; however, the Chinese are either

  1. playing us
  2. seem to thinking Little Kim is truly the retarded crazy inbred offspring of some young ill kim

Anyhow they acting like he is not returning their calls and wowie the Chinese much closer geographically then the "bellicose" new American president who just promised to help and not label the chinese the currency manipulating thieves, slave labour using whores, egalitarian proletariat posers and crapitomunistic economy that they are.

No sir there are people in need of a fresh pair of underware(Or as I call it - software) all over this evening.

I'll be in the back yard digging my bomb shelter and watching Blast From the Past

PS: Essentially the situation hasn't changed since McArthor told Harry he needed to drop the bomb - sure he meant china but that ship has sailed and the proxy war then is the same with this Norkatude now rather then crazy but very much with his hands full Mao

Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb

We'd better fricken hope so - paging General Lemay we need some balls - STAT

Wow. Of true this is the greatest American Sino pact since, well, ever. At least since nuking Japan. I have had many doubts about Trump. This development is astounding, in a MAGA way.

It’s also flowery language stressing PEACEFUL means, i.e. better not escalate it.

We should really find a way to have better relations with China.

What does China need that we can supply? Energy for their booming economy.

What can we supply? Clean burning LNG that will eliminate their polluted air in their cities.

Who will benefit? Both China and the USA. China can continue their economy and we will MAGA by isolating NK from China and Russia.(that takes care of our western flank)

On our eastern flank we can supply that same LNG to our Nato allies thereby making it independent from Russian gas.

All this will give us a double MAGA for a long time to come.

There is a report that Russia is sending troops to the North Korean border.

This may be bothersome, as it might portend China facing off with Russia over North Korea.

China either needs to put a leash on the North Korean dictator or have him replaced.

Though there may be those who might cheer a Russia/China shootout, it could escalate into something more serious for all in the region.

I know there is a treaty against re-arming Japan, but I would not mind Japan having a modern military as a deterrent in the region.

The US could sell Japan modern aircraft, tanks, and even warships.

And then remind Japan of the treachery of Russia at the end of World War II when the Soviet Union seized some islands from Japan.

During World War II, the Soviet Union and Japan signed a non-aggression pact.
