Activists behind some of the nations most attention-grabbing recent cannabis activism plan to give about a pound of marijuana rolled into 1,227 joints to congressional staff Thursday to urge reform on the annual 4/20 marijuana holiday.
That is, if anyone shows up to get it near the corner of 1st Street NE and Constitution Avenue, a stone's throw from Senate office buildings and the Supreme Court.
Organizers arent sure many congressional ID-holders will accept their two free joints between high noon and 6:20 p.m. despite an effort to distribute fliers to every lawmakers Capitol Hill office and the fact it's legal under local law.
Were curious, will there even be a line to take it? We may have only one customer an hour, who knows, says D.C. Cannabis Campaign co-founder Adam Eidinger. It would be a shame if its 6 oclock and there are 600 joints we havent handed out.

Who’s bringing the snacks? Pepperoni, moon pies and RC Cola would be nice.
Just in general too, every day of the year works for me.
Our local pot shops are having all kinds of 4/20 specials tomorrow - discounts, free doughnuts and one place has “bring your pet for a photo” - which might be fun but my pit bull does not work and play well with other dogs.
Even before legalization there was always a big get together in Civic Center Park downtown that the police generally left alone. I could see the haze from my former office window.
How can they do this? Isn’t MJ still illegal in DC?
True. I’ve never been, but I have heard of that.
You never know - the weed might mellow him out
This never happens when I am in town...any town...anywhere :)

In Washington DC it is legal to have & legal to grow cannabis. You cannot buy/sell it.
Let’s get the Dems high and then pass a lot of bills while they’re stoned and more agreeable. Make the munchies conditional on passage of certain bills.

Except on the black market. That sounds worse than the system we have here. Here, the commercial grow operations have to tag and account for each plant.

I think it’s a wonderful system. Folks can grow their own & can legally share their crop just like someone with a regular garden can share their green beans with their neighbors.
No way that I would ever want to live in DC, but their system regarding cannabis would be a huge plus for me.
LOL, of course stickman ;)
