Louisiana priest not missing but was lost
Multiple TV Stations | April 17, 2017 | Vanity But sourced

A priest was thought to be missing. His car was found parked and people did know where he was.

He was lost and was new to United States. He was using another priest's car whom he had driven to the airport.

The priest, Father Julius Ohiaege of Nigeria, was taking the place of the priest he had driven to the Lafayette, Louisiana airport. He was to substitute for the priest at St Leo the Great parish in Leonville.

Links to stories on this (which are quite confusing as some still has the priest as being missing):

KLFY (CBS News): Priest missing from Leonville found safe

KATC (ABC News): Missing Priest located in St. Landry Parish was lost, driving in US for first time

Some of the articles I saw on this still said he was missing but started the article by stating he had been found (which is confusing).

This is why I posted this.

I imagine the stories on this will eventually be updated, but earlier this evening the stories started off saying the priest was found but still had information about the priest was missing (a contradiction).

Lived in Nigeria for a couple of years. Worst drivers in the world. Glad he is safe.

Back in the 60s I drove on Hwy. 90 across Southern Louisianan several times. There was around a 30 mile area where one would drive over pure swamp and then maybe every mile there would be a river.

Amazed me that they were able to put a highway through it. A person could get lost and never be found.
