... After USA dropped the GBU-43 bomb on Afghanistan, it’s been reported that at least 36 terrorists from ISIS have been killed.

... The GBU-43 is a large-yield conventional (non-nuclear) bomb developed by the United States and having a kill radius of 1.6 km.
It weighs a massive 21,600-pound, and is GPS-guided. The bomb is designed to be delivered by a C-130 Hercules.
The first testing of the GBU-43 was carried out on 11 March 2003 at the Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. It was again tested on 21 November 2003.

I retired out of Eglin AFB in 2000,and watched them test this weapon twice, about 10 miles east of Duke Field before I retired.

I'm guessing the the number 36 was from IR imaging just before the MOAB exploded.
I'm confident that the number will increase after a more thorough search of that area is done, either by UAV or by a smaller drone.

If th4 ISIS fighters were underground, you’ll never recover all their bodies. Some will be human pancakes; others, mush.

However, if some of the tunnels are opened up, our forces should recover valuable intell information, esp. documents, communications equipment, computers, walkie talkies/Iphones, etc.

It will take some time to do this but the ISIS guys aren’t going anywhere, ever.

Though this was the MOAB prototype I love seeing photos of bombs just before they it because this is what they're seeing!...as written from your link....."Injury or death to persons will be primarily caused by blast or fragmentation. It is expected that the weapon will have a substantial psychological effect on those who witness its use."

I was reading where the “Daisy Cutter” was about half the size of the MOAB - so interesting if this is older footage. (I bet it is). I was also reading on how much of the effect of the bomb was “shock and awe” (and surrender).

The way the wording is in this brief, could the “36 terrorists killed after US bombed Afghanistan” mean as the troops went in they killed 36 terrorists, in addition to any unknown killed by the bomb.? I’m guessing any near the surface would have disintegrated, and any underground will spend eternity down there.

Speechless ......watched it several times.....just wow!

Interesting is the guy filming it ...once it went off in the first flame out..ran to hide behind a pillar in the community below...then he gets hit with the aftershock wave roaring past him....

I wash stunned just watching that Moab hit I cannot imagine being that close without it instilling a huge dose of ‘terror’. No wonder they say the pshcological effect is part of it's use....along with the aftershock and flames.....just wow!

Tell me please about the after shock wave that roared by the person filming this.....just the sound of the blast got him running for cover behind the pillar...but the wave seemed to throw him way off balance...and how far away is that actually heard?

If you youtube ‘bomb explosion in TORO BORO’ there’s one which is shown on a rocky hillside that looked sort of like this.....I remember seeing it during the attacks there when they first began fighting the Taliban before Iraq.....that was stunning to watch as well....
