It's a gentlemen’s agreement that doesn't count for anything. So, no, Germany will never use chemical weapons on the US. But it doesn't stop the psychos of the world from using them.

Maybe those who were gassed were providing aid and comfort to ISIS.

The reason they were effective in WWI is that thousands of men were crammed together in trenches.

That and they were massed attacks, not single weapons. The effectiveness declined with training and rudimentary counter-measures.

Do you have verified proof that he did it all?

Grow up! Just because I think this strike was a bad idea, and following Ivanka’s broken heart and even worse idea doesn’t mean I don’t support Donald Trump. But unlike you apparently, I have my own mind and can hold two disparate thoughts at once. I didn’t vote to elect a cult leader to whom I owe undying loyalty no matter what. Maybe you did?

“Bad reasoning.”

Nope. Lincoln is not Assad. Different wars. Different situations. President Lincoln didn’t come from a line of butchers. Assad did. Lincoln was trying to preserve the Union. Assad wants to stay in power & for his subjects to obey him. Apples and oranges, pure & simple.

“We should stay the hell out of the Syrian’s war.”

Then your beef is with Odumbo. President Trump didn’t get us into Syria, his predecessor did. President Trump responded to the use of chemical weapons, period. There’s no invasion force on Syria’s borders & we aren’t dropping missiles on Assad’s head. These are the things that would happen if President Trump decided to actually go to war.

President Trump told Russia, Assad, North Korea & the rest of the world the era of weakness is over with this single action. Sorry you can’t or won’t see that as a good thing. I guess after 8 years of Odumbo & the failures of GW it’s hard for some to remember what’s its like to have a real leader looking out for America’s interest.

Ben Stein and Patrick Buchanan are right on this.

Stay out of Syria.

It’s a disaster for the US just waiting to happen.

We have absolutely no national interests in Syria...other than Ivanka’s and Donald’s delicate sensibilities.

“Grow up! “

Back at ya!

“But unlike you apparently,”

I stopped reading. When you go ad hominem I get bored.

Have a very nice day & remember: Candidate Trump defeated the GOPe, the media, Soros & Co, Cankles & her minions & the rest of the Swamp with Ivanka, Jared, Bannon, Miller, KellyAnne & others advising him. The results of their advice speaks for itself.

It’s just for some of us the action bring to mind Bush’s lies about WMD. At this stage there was no reason to go after Assad. But weakening him, we are strengthening ISIS - and fighting ISIS should have priority.

What is our gain?

Does it not concern you that all of our domestic enemies support this?

Is an offensive act of war a legitimate method of "sending a message"?

His ex-friend’s wife is a total psycho.

Maybe same goes for his ex-friend who lets his wife dictate the termination of a decades-long close friendship.

My wife would never have done such a thing but if she had she'd have been set straight, pretty damn quick. And the same would go for me had I done that to her.

Ofc maybe the ex-friend is a total weasel who is just using his wife as a slimy pretext. Seriously, who would dump a close friend of many years unless they really didn’t care to know the person anymore?

“Do you have verified proof that he did it all?”

I have proof of the following:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hafez_al-Assad

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1982_Hama_massacre

https://www.theguardian.com/theguardian/from-the-archive-blog/2011/aug/01/hama-syria-massacre-1982-archive

That’s just some of the current Assad’s father’s atrocities. Moving on to the current Assad.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/feb/07/saydnaya-prison-assad-slaugterhouse-amnesty-report-torture-mass-hangings

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4215532/Assad-s-21st-century-holocaust.html

We know to a certainty Assad used chemical weapons on people prior to President Trump’s coming into office. Odumbo threatened to do something about with his “red line” BS but since he was & remains anti-America he did nothing & the slaughter got worse while ISIS gained more of a foothold in Syria.

If you want more proof get a security clearance and read the classified materials & get back to us when it’s declassified. I’m sure your report would make for a fun thread lol.

Offensive act of war? Even the Obama administration engaged in offensive acts of war in Syria, and the Trump administration has continued it, before the missile launch last week.

“Does it not concern you that all of our domestic enemies support this?”

It would be stupid for Trump to plan his actions just on the doing the opposite of what those groups call for. I noticed that most of the conservative leaders also backed the decision.

President Trump is not GW Bush. Nothing he has done or said to date = GW Bush with regards to foreign policy.

Weakening Assad does not equal strengthening ISIS. That’s a fallacy the media & the GOP part of the Swamp are pushing in hopes of dividing President Trump’s supporters. In order for that disordered logic to work the USA forces on the ground would have to pull out & go home allowing ISIS to continue to operate with bloody damn abandon.

Funny thing is the anti-Trump people on the right are outing themselves by the dozens on FR & it appears many of them are on temporary & some permanent vacations.

President Trump responded to the use of chemical weapons, period.

Yes he did, but he is also taking part in the Syrian's civil war and is upping the ante.

U.S. Is Sending 400 More Troops to Syria

Different wars. Different situations.

And yet the same principle applies. A people have the right to settle matters between themselves without outside powers interfering in those discussions.

President Lincoln didn’t come from a line of butchers. Assad did.

Meaningless. We don't judge a man for the sins of his father around here.

Assad wants to stay in power & for his subjects to obey him. Apples and oranges, pure & simple.

Take that up with his citizens. The more simple fact of the matter is is that Assad was elected by his people in an internationally monitored election in 2007. The last national election Syria was able to hold before their civil war broke out.

There’s no invasion force on Syria’s borders

Islamic jihadis intent on overthrowing the Syrian government are constantly entering the country - we could be doing something to put a stop to that. A little research on your part might be in order.

we aren’t dropping missiles on Assad’s head.

Our attack on that Syrian airbase killed Syrian soldiers. The point that we didn't attempt to kill Assad is meaningless - we killed men fighting to defend their country. So, the fact that we killed them but not their leader makes it ok in your book?

We have troops inside the borders of a sovereign nation against the expressed wishes of its legitimate leadership. That is an act of war.

By this logic I presume you would approve of Hitler's treatment of Jews prior to the invasion of Europe?
