The pre-bagged salads are sprayed with something that leaves a residue that makes my girlfriends mother sick if she eats it.

The chemical used to “decaffeinate” coffee does the same thing to me and also gives me a head ache straight from the pits of hell. I’ve never come across anyone else with the same problem.
That chemical doesn’t de caf anything. It supposedly neutralizes caffeine.
What is the treatment for rabies these days? I heard the abdominal shot is long gone, but didn’t hear the new one.
[ Wal-Mart is recalling packaged salad mixes made by Fresh Express after a dead bat was found inside a box labeled as Organic ]
Bats are organic, last time I checked...
I hate Fresh Express. I like different vegetables in my salads, and have bought their Veggie Lovers mix. It’s supposed to have lettuce, carrots, red cabbage, radishes, and snap peas. In one package I bought at our local P&C, there were no radishes to be found. I complained to the company, and stopped buying their product. I used to buy the Dole Salads, and never had a problem with them, but then they had a recall, and our local Price Chopper stopped carrying them, and went to Fresh Express. I bought one bag of the Veggie Lovers, making sure of the expiration date. I opened the package a couple of night’s later, and there was a horrible smell of rotted vegetables coming from the bag. I reached in, and all the veggie’s at the bottom of the bag were slimy. I threw it all away. There was three days left before expiration, and this never should have happened. I wrote the company again and complained. They wrote me back, and sent me two coupons in the mail...which I still haven’t used, and will now throw away.
“Waiter! Why is there a bat in my salad!”
“Oh, yes - I’m sorry sir. We are out of soup.”
Same bat salad...same bat channel.
How in the heck did Hillary get in there? That’s what I’d like to know!
Were they charged extra for bat? Honestly, people can be soooo picky.
Sulfides.
It is why I can not eat salad in most restaurants.
Makes me sick.
But it keeps the salad looking nice and green.

.... Heck .... Where is their gratitude? What has become of this nation?
Read the article
Allegedly...
There is nothing unusual about vegetarian bats.
What other sort is there??
.... Heck .... Where is their gratitude? What has become of this nation?
They didn’t notice the smell when they opened the salad?
The article makes it sound like it’s OK that there was a dead bat in the salad, cause, you know, the chance of getting rabies from it is pretty low.
I will continue to grow and process as absolutely much of my own food as possible.
I have parrots that love anything leafy - EXCEPT if it is bagged salad. Then they spit it back out first taste. And they all hate it, unlike anything else which may at least get some takers. Universally reviled. Doesn’t bother me whatever it is.
I have to get them greens from the veggie stand instead and chop it up so they can all indulge.
The waxy coating on apples and cucumbers doesn’t bother them [though I hate it] but whatever is on the salad certainly does.
