CA: Sheakalee Family Forces Return of Millions of Dollars Worth of Guns and Ammo

A California family has finally had their illegally seized firearms and ammunition returned after over a year in the courts.  The collection has an estimated value of millions of dollars. It consisted of 541 rifles, pistols, and shotguns, and over 100,000 rounds of ammunition. 10 of the rifles were registered “assault weapons” under California law. One was a bolt action .50 caliber. Albert Sheakalee has had a federal firearms license since the early 1990's.

Sheakalee was mistakenly included on the California Armed & Prohibited Persons System (APPS) because of seeking treatment for high stress during the summer of 2015.  He is 60 years old. Sheakalee is a Christian refugee who fled Iran in the 1970's after the Ayatollah took over the country. He has never had problems with the police and has no criminal record. He prospered in America, earned a degree in accounting, and worked his way up to become budget director of the local hospital's health care department.

Sheakalee says that he had no idea that he was on the APPS list until the raid occurred. His lawyer, Mark Coleman says postal records show he was notified nearly two weeks after the raid. From the sacbee.com:

However, Coleman said, postal records indicate the letter was not delivered until Nov. 25, 2015, 13 days after Sheakalee was arrested for possessing the weapons. No charges were filed against Sheakalee by the Fresno County District Attorney.

On 12 July, 2016, Sheakalee was notified that all charges against him were resolved. No charges were ever actually filed against him.

Sheakalee was arrested for possessing the weapons.

He was NOT ARRESTED, He was Kidnapped at Gunpoint, his Property STOLEN and held for Ransom.

I DO NO BELIEVE EVER that we should give ANYONE in Government the benefit of doubt. These Jack Booted Thugs in their Magic Blue Costumes knew damn well they were committing a Criminal Act in the name of Politics. If they didn’t, then they are too damned Stupid and Morally Bankrupt to even have their Jobs.

I don’t Give a Damn about their Intentions, they ALL BELONG IN PRISON, Including the Judge that allowed this Criminal Extortion Racket to go on for a Year.

ATF is another criminal agency Trump needs to fix. Sadly, 8 years is not long enough to fix all that needs fixing. I bet all of Obama’s goons in the ATF stay and are not ferreted out. Such a shame and what damage they do to the 2nd Amendment.

If he has any sense, he’ll pack up what he can and flee to the free zone.

Sheakalee was mistakenly included on the California Armed & Prohibited Persons System (APPS) because of seeking treatment for high stress during the summer of 2015.

There is a lesson there. If I ever experienced "high stress" or some other mental symptoms, I would see a priest, a minister, or even a rabbi - never a medical professional. Too many of them are not on our side, and it only takes one to betray you and ruin your life.

The second lesson is to fight back and never give up. The thugs almost stole well over $1M from him. They stole a significant part of his life, his sense of security, and his freedom, but he stood up to them and prevailed. I pray that he can get some of them fired, voted out of office, or otherwise derail their lives as much as they tried to derail his.

I know, but it reminded me to call them out anyway. I remember under Clinton they were trying to put every small FFL dealer out of business and they closed a fair number of large FFL dealers on tiny technicalities. I don’t think GW did anything to reign them in. I assume they were just as aggressive under the Marxist Muslim in Chief.

They are an agency badly in need of reform and limits.

“Nothing about the ATF in the story.”

That’s because they were not involved in any way. This was a CADOJ operation pursuant to CA law. The CADOJ is ten times worse than the FEDs in their “zeal” to take away CA residents 2A rights at the drop of a hat.

Sad but very true post. But so many people are on anti anxiety/anti depression meds that you have to see a doctor. He should, if there was truly justice he would be awarded a boatload of money by the county.

I wonder what his stress level is now????!!

Another lesson:don’t believe the BS from drug companies that their pill will restore your life to “normal”.

It is a tragedy that Americans are bombarded with drug ads with the evening news.

Better be very careful as some may have been tampered with.

But so many people are on anti anxiety/anti depression meds that you have to see a doctor.

That's a tough one. If you're an American who celebrates freedom, sometimes your choice is between shooting to relieve stress and drugs to deal with stress. Perhaps local firearms message boards and communities should share information on which psychiatrists are decent people and which ones turn on their patients for no reason.
