President Trump believes that he will have the opportunity to pack the Supreme Court with five judges, making him only the seventh president to appoint a majority and potentially cementing his legacy and that of the conservative court well past 2055.

By the end of Trump's first term, three will have crossed that line, Anthony Kennedy, who will be 83, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who will be 86, and Stephen Breyer, who will be 81. The next oldest is Clarence Thomas, who will be 71.
The source did not indicate who Trump expected to leave the court to create the vacancies.

Ginsberg and Breyer will only leave when carried out feet first from their desk/hospital bed.
SCOTUS is thoroughly politicized. None of these fossils will retire; they’ll die in office, like Scalia. Kennedy is the most important of whom to be rid. Remember, too, that Roberts is no Constitutionalist or Originalist...just another in a long line of disappointing ‘Pub picks.
Personally I would be talking to Roberts since there are a ton of rumors of him being blackmailed on Obamacare. You can not allow that to continue to hang out there without it being discussed with him.
I don’t know much about most of them, but I do know Diane Sykes has thrown out a law as a violation of the Second Amendment. That’s enough for me to want her to be the next choice.
In that case they don’t get to pick the time, God does.
I think one is more probable. My guess is the liberals will die in office before they let Trump pick their successor.
Someone will always step into that swing spot as long as there are 4/4 decisions. If I remember correctly Kennedy was fairly reliable until Sandra Day O Conner retired. If we have a reliable 6 there will not be one forced to be the swing

Dems were setting up to claim it’s the “Ginsberg seat” and Trump has to appoint a moderate/lefty. That’s the deal they wanted to cut.

Trump should consider a woman or black. With a black Dems would have to shut up for get the “lynch mob” card played on them again.
The best decision Ginsberg made was to NOT retire during 0bama's first term.
