Why Firing Tomahawk Missiles At Syria Was A Nearly Useless Response
Foxtrot Alpha ^ | 4/7/2017 | Gary Wetzel

The U.S. Navy has launched 59 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles at a Syrian military airfield Thursday night, in retaliation for a Syrian chemical-weapons attack on its own civilians earlier this week. But make no mistake that this is a political move, not a decisive military one. Tomahawks are not the ideal weapon to do long-term damage to an airfield runway, like the one that launched the planes implicated in the chemical attack.

That may be a good thing, and here is why:

Whether or not the Syrian government gassed its own citizens, Obama and Hillary should be held responsible by the international community either way.

Here’s why.

1) If it wasn’t the Syrian government.

On Thursday, officials in Turkey said that villagers from Syria’s Idlib Province suffered – and more than 80 died – because the Syrian government used sarin gas against its own people. Some of them were babies whose pictures were viral.

But was it really the government?

We can’t know for sure.

The Syrians – and Russians – claim that Syrian bombs hit containers of sarin gas that belonged to the fanatical terrorists they were bombing. Besides, it looked like Assad was about to settle the war through diplomacy. Why would he attack then?

Could the attack really have been launched by the terrorists and blamed on the government? It sure looks like it. In fact, it may not even be the first time.

The world rushed to blame the Syrian government after another sarin gas attack in northern Syria on March 19, 2013. But UN investigator Carla del Ponte found “strong, concrete” evidence that the rebels were behind the attack – and that they blamed it on Assad so that the U.S. would overthrow him.

There’s more evidence than that. A classified U.S. intelligence document that June said that a Syrian terrorist group – the Al-Nusra Front – had a “most advanced sarin” gas production program, according to investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.

If that’s not enough, there’s yet another way the chemical weapons may have gotten into the rebels’ hands, and it will have your blood boiling.

Because you paid for it.

When the Obama administration toppled Muammar Qaddafi from power in Libya in 2011, it smuggled his weapons into Syria to arms the “rebels,” according to Hersh. A lot of these weapons ended up going to terrorists linked to al-Qaeda, he said. A U.S. weapons dealer, Marc Turi, has testified he was part of Hillary’s secret plan to arm Islamist terrorists in Libya and Syria.

Sarin gas was known to be in Libya’s possession. So it could be the sarin gas used in Syria came to them courtesy of the Obama administration’s redistribution of WMDs.

If that’s the case, then those deaths – and anything that happens in Syria from this point forward – is the fault of Barrack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Actually, it’s their fault either way.

2) If it was the Syrian government.

The Obama administration deserves the blame for the attack if it was the Syrian government, too, for one simple reason.

According to Obama, there are no chemical weapons in Syria!

Peace Prize winner Obama said that he and his spineless band of Democratic weaklings got rid of them all years ago.

Obama and his cronies told the international media that they had gotten all the chemical weapons out of Syria in 2014. “It turns out we are getting chemical weapons out of Syria without initiating a strike,” President Obama said that April.

“We struck a deal where we got a hundred percent of the chemical weapons out,” said John Kerry, who was Obama’s Secretary of State, just three months later. Politifact even rated his comment “true.”

To paraphrase Maury Povich, “The weapons falling on Syrian villagers showed that statement was false.”

If it was Assad, then Obama and Kerry – and Hillary before him – were too weak to follow through with actually stripping a dictator of his weapons.

No matter what happens from this point forward, the blame for the chemical attack that started it all belongs to Obama and Hillary. The Fake News media won’t tell you that, but now you know. Don’t let anyone forget it.

Base is already up and running and launching sorties

So? Destroying the runway and rendering the airfield inoperable wasn't the objective. Are those sorties carrying gas munitions? If not, mission accomplished.

It is possible President Trump was sending a message, but the intended receiver was not necessarily Syria.

That is one of the more absurd notions floating around FR.

If staging a kidnapping of your wife so you can prove to her how much you love her makes sense to you, then so will this.

If Syria still has the means to eliminate the filthy islams trying to oust him, it’s all good...as long as he doesn’t use CW to do it.

Win. Win.

None of the 58 cruise missiles were aimed at the runways. Hangers, ammo bunkers, and fuel storage and planes. The runways are all hardened and easily repairable.

Plenty of reports we steered clear of Russian planes and we did not hit the runway. I think we can put together who's flying there.

An this strike was intended to mess up Assad's hairdo and get everyone else's attention. As Krauthammer put it "There is A Sheriff in town.

A better question did they carry gas attacks in the first place
