Any action we take provides no possible benefit to us

We are already heavily involved in the region, with numerous treaties and agreements.

Not honoring those agreements exacts a heavy price on us.

Obama refused to honor U.S. agreements all over the world.

The world is far less stable, and we are worse off, because of it.

We really dodged a bullet when Clinton/Kaine lost. This guy hasn’t a clue about the real world, the military, the constitution or the economy. He is even further in his views than Schumer or the faux Indian.

The post-9/11 Congressional actions in the stupid "war on terror" have basically given any U.S. president carte blanche to engage in any military action anywhere in the world -- in perpetuity.

Just in case anyone was wondering why it always seems so easy for dictators to gain control of entire countries ...

I didn’t know there were so many doves on FR. This is exactly in line with Trump’s military posture from day one. Have Freepers become infected with Obama pacifist drivel?

Reagan did attacked numerous times against bad state actors.

For examples, Hormuz and the Persian gulf. Reagan blasted Iranian oil rigs and sinking several Iranian armed ships without a declaration of war.

Moreover, Reagan hammered Qaddafi in Libya for the Berlin disco bombing in Operation El Dorado Canyon, Several F-111s attacked Libyan airbases to punish Daffy Duck who tuck tail and ran hiding for at least 6 months. “Line of death” in the Gulf of Sidra LoL.

If the Internet was already invented by Al Goreon then, the whiners would have been out in force clucking and whining about Reagan.

Wow, I hate to pan Freepers, but I totally disagree with you.

Congress has not declared War since the 1940s, and that is why we ended up with bullsh!t like Korea and Vietnam.

Read “On Strategy, A Critical Analysis of the Vietnam War.” Harry Summers nailed it IMHO.

I stand by my statements that Congress has not declared war, and the President should force them to do so.

“Unconditional Surrender” should be the only acceptable outcome.

These guys are spewing a lot of garbage.

“Who are the rebels? They’re Syrians.”

So many of these rebels are not Syrian. They’re terrorists. What do you think happens in the USA if a group of so-called rebels attempts to overthrow our government?

These guys are pushing for their Bible prophecy to happen on their timeline. Bible prophecy doesn’t need their help.

And I don’t believe for one second that Assad’s government used chemical weapons to kill 80 or so people. They wouldn’t have wanted to bring the international community against them for using chemical weapons. They could have easily done it with conventional weapons. I believe the weapons were from rebels and/or ISIS.

The guys in this video are siding with the rebels. So many of the rebels are far worse than what we have in Syria now. Assad protected Christians so I am not buying every bad thing I hear about him.

“As I said, I actually almost agree with Kaine, force congress to declare war.”

If you are saying “have a war or don’t have a war” I agree with that. If you are saying “join forces with ISIS to fight Putin’s puppet” no I don’t agree with that.

There is no possible way that the dust clears in Syria with a free, pro American state in power. Any action we take provides no possible benefit to us.

It provides no benefit to us, and it will get the remaining Christians in Syria slaughtered by ISIS.

Presidents don’t have to get critters of Cong permission to do military actions even under the War Powers Act and only notify them within 48 hours, which Trump complied with. Even so, the War Powers Act is disputed that it may not be Constitutional as the President is the Commander in Chief of the military under Article 2, Section 2, Clause 1.

Now that is a color of different horse.

The President needs to have the authority to react to crisis without waiting for congress to declare war. Now this may actually cause a war, but that is why he is the commander in chief of the US Military.

Not he does not.

Jefferson didn't need a declaration of war to fight the Barbary Coast pirates, nor did Adams need Cong Critters to fight "The Quasi War" against France.

Here is a hint Kaine is foolish idiot.
