Mayor Virgil Bernero (D) of Lansing, Michigan debated Tucker Carlson on the legitimacy of Attorney General Jeff Sessions' plan to withhold federal funds from cities that won't enforce federal immigration law.
Carlson reported that despite Sessions' warnings, Lansing voted to become a sanctuary city, and he asked Bernero when it was OK to defy any federal law in such a way.
Bernero said that it is never proper to do so, and added that his executive order on the topic abides by federal law.
He invited Sessions and President Trump to advise him anytime on how to increase public safety in Lansing, but said he would never "federalize" his police force to become an immigration enforcer.

I wonder if he gets warm fuzzies every time he tosses around his racist lines. I think that it is called “white guilt” and deprecation. Weird.
And tossing around his racist statements does absolutely nothing to solve the problems of inner cities and poorer areas. Actually, it does more damage because it offers excuses.
The real goal is to divert attention away from the real problems that no one want to discuss. Why? because that would mean that all of the Left’s grand plan is an utter failure and they might have to admit it.

If he selects which laws to enforce against his friends and foes for political expediency he needs to be arrested. This mayor has confessed to his crime, lock him up.

The new tactic is they are following the law as written. IOW, they do not respond to ICE detainers but will hold people on warrants. That is the democrap mantra these days.
The racial breakdown in Lansing is 54% White, 23% black and 13% hispanic. The rest are asian and multi racial.
