Well, the civilian they were interviewing on the local TV channel, who found the pilot alive in a field, said that munition projectiles were whizzing through the air and scared the heck out of him. What were they? This guy knew what he thought they were, and the pilot who was worried about where the plane had landed, said that he had live weapons on board the plane.

Very likely an alert jet that was on a practice scramble. Always a challenge. Jets don’t like to sit. They like to fly. The more you fly them the less they break. Counter intuitive.
I don't know. Stories I've read so far said he was in a flight headed for a training mission. They probably didn't have live munitions.

Sally watched as the pilot came down. She yelled out to ask if he was ok. Helicopter arrived quickly
I just saw an interview with this guy (I think). He sounded sure of his statements.
