Cool. ABA is a political operation, advocating for political appointees.

Good!
ABA is far far too political, non-objective.
They should NOT be involved in judicial appointments.

Excellent.

This is one more subtle way that Trump reveals he is ideologically connected to our thoughts, more often than not.

I don’t agree with his Ryancare efforts, but things like this are very important too, and he has done so many things along these lines.

His appointments will be much better for the lack of ABA input.

The ABA is the voice of the Washington legal establishment, aka the ruling class. They are part of the swamp that has to be drained. Best to keep them out of the loop.

Trump’s list of potential SCOTUS nominees came for the Federalist Society, and IMHO that is who should suggest his lower court nominees as well.

AFAIK the ABA is, de facto, a liberal organization which should not have any input.

For lower court judges the issue is pretty much moot, since Harry Reid already blew up the filibuster of lower court nominees.

ABA doesn’t mean much. Just another layer of “being informed” that the person is an attorney. If he/she were bad...they’d be disbarred.

It's absolutely IMPERATIVE that Trump nominate 100% constitutional conservatives to federal judges AT ALL LEVELS for each & every judicial opening.

For lower court openings it has been traditional that the US Senator(s) of the State in which the Judgeship “sits”. So, for example, the two liberal California Senators had veto power over who went on any of the California judges. That's how we ended up with extreme leftist judges dominating the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE &MUST STOP! And Donald Trump is just the man to change this practice up & MAKE OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM GREAT AGAIN..

Was a member of the ABA many years ago. It is far too liberal. This gives the organization the same chance to weigh in on nominees as every other organization but it does not get a de facto veto on nominees which would probably happen were it specifically consulted ahead of the nomination. The libs will scream bloody murder but it is a far compromise. Let that organization have as much a voice, but no more, than all other concerned organizations and individuals.
