LEAKED DHS DOCUMENT IS ANOTHER DEMOCRATIC PARTY SCANDAL
Powerline ^ | March 28,2017 | John Hinderaker

The judges were wrong to base their decisions in part on the leaked document. President Trump had clear constitutional and statutory authority to issue the travel order, and whether the judges, or some anonymous person at DHS, agreed with his judgment is irrelevant.

But Leahy skillfully unpacks what happened here. The draft report came from DHS’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis, which was headed by David Grannis, an Obama holdover bureaucrat. Grannis is a partisan Democrat who previously worked as a staffer for Democrats Dianne Feinstein and Jane Harman. A DHS spokesman “would neither confirm nor deny that Grannis was the author of, or had reviewed, the leaked document….”

How about the reporters? It pretty much goes without saying that AP reporters are Democrats. But Leahy also points out that Vivian Salama formerly worked for Rolling Stone, where she wrote that Yemen–one of the countries covered by the travel order–“holds a special place in my heart.” She has bitterly denounced U.S. drone strikes in Yemen.

So it appears that what happened here is that Democratic Party activists in the Department of Homeland Security either created a bogus document or dug up a poorly-researched draft document that had never been issued, and fed it to Democratic Party activists at the Associated Press. The Democratic Party activists at the AP published a story based on the anonymous document, which two Democratic Party activists on the bench used as a pretext for orders enjoining the president’s travel order.

Those orders should be viewed as purely political acts that have no basis in any valid judicial reasoning or authority.

Trump should just ignore the judge. Obama did when it was a ruling he didn’t like.

It would be better to have empty chairs than enemy agents sowing subversion sitting in them. That would also help determine what jobs aren’t necessary and can be removed.

Civil Service Act.
Government employees are nearly impossible to fire.

Presidents who do not ACT upon clear legal authority unilaterally in real time themselves attack legal order by their failure.

country of citizenship is unlikely to be a reliable indicator of potential terrorist activity.

So what? We don't know the "country of citizenship" of visitors from the banned countries. Those countries don't have the records or processes that enable us to know details about the visitors, such as their "country of citizenship".

Another thing that is unfortunately unlikely is that refugees will be located in the neighborhood where the authors of this document live. Can Trump sign and executive order saying all refugees will be place in DC for at least the first 6 months? He can use a reason like the need to have a healthy support/training system for new refugees and that's easiest if they are all in one place. And also that keeps the feds from imposing on governors who are not part of the decision to bring/place refugees but have financial and other consequences.

Not true. Civil Service Employees can be fired for cause. Even if the “Cause” is a made up innuendo. Just takes brass ones on the bosses. In this case, the allegation that there are leaked documents are enough to suspend and then fire anyone involved in any manner. That includes mentioning anything not work related on emails, texts, phones, etc... It doesn’t have to detail the leaks. just mention the suspension or firing. Nexis to conspiracy is really thin.

The other way is to order employees to perform odd tasks. Transfer them to Earth Station Zebra. Change hours to impossibility. Fire them for insubordination is always a winner.

Given that it seems to be impossible to fire Civil Service employees who just sit a computer watching porn, I think “next to impossible” is still the correct description of the chance of firing a civil service employee.
