Police are looking for a woman who they say intentionally struck pedestrians with her vehicle while leaving the parking lot of a Union City Wal-Mart after trying to return some batteries Sunday evening.
The suspect entered the Wal-Mart at 30600 Dyer St. around 6 p.m. Sunday, and left the store agitated after employees declined to accept the returned batteries, police said.
She got into a silver two-door Honda Accord, model year 1998 to 2000, and backed out of her parking space - nearly striking a woman and a young child walking behind the car.
As she continued to back up, police allege the suspect struck "numerous people." A 3-year-old child and a woman narrowly escaped injury by running out of the way.
"She started honking her horn, going crazy. My mother told me and my brother to get out of the way," a witness said. "Me and a bystander were telling her to stop the car because she was about to hit us."
The suspect fled the scene at a high rate of speed, forcing other pedestrians to get out of the way, police said.
She's described as a white woman with brown hair and glasses, standing 5 feet to 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing between 100 and 120 pounds. She was wearing a gray sweatshirt with a Batman logo, black leggings and dark Ugg-style boots.
Police had a little bit different description.
"She looks like a very young Hispanic female in her late teens, early 20s." Steve Mendez of the Union City Police Department said. "She was denied the return at the store, came out and was pretty angry at what had occurred in the store."
The victims said the woman was screaming and hitting the steering wheel before she backed into them and sped away,

I knew it had to be a hispanic. Amazing that the witnesses said she was white. I bet they were hispanics too.

That is two in the last two days! A man ran over two shoppers in Rogers Arkansas Walmart and killed himself when he hit a pole a day ago.
One thing I’ve never heard, “Man runs over shoppers at SEARS or K-MART!”
To run over shoppers, there needs to be shoppers.
