U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he’ll fight a proposal to eliminate a 52-year-old federal agency that seeks to create jobs.

McConnell told WYMT-TV Saturday that he’s opposed to the proposal to do away with the Appalachian Regional Commission, which is contained in President Donald Trump’s budget for Fiscal 2018.

In fact, McConnell said, “We are not going to allow any cuts” to the commission. …

He does not need this punk in the Senate. What Trump needs to do is throw this jerk into the gaols. Great-great-Grandpappy was a gaoler in England... so don’t let my vocabulary impress you too much LOL! 18th century England! LOL

And my forebears showed up in America, just in time to be blamed for slavery. I have the necessary color of skin... so I am guilty by skin color, not by the content of my character.

The article spoke about good intentions and a 9 figure sum of money spent... but nothing on ROI, or comparable services.

Suggest McConnell do so or shut up.

National Review did a “glowing” biography of him right when he was on verge of becoming majority leader. The thing I remember most about it was how he went to DC as a Page, then staffer then ran for office. The man barely set foot back in Kentucky after age 20. This is the problem the “professional politician” be they GOP or Rat! After roughly 10 years in DC no matter how good you start out the “ Beltway” becomes your constituency not the people back home. Many of our GOP’ers don’t even realize it happened to them. Of course the Rats start with the “Beltway” as their constituents so there’s no subtle transition for them.

“he went to DC as a Page”

I thought he had that “I’m a catcher” cast of features.

That explains why he is a foul traitor. They must have hours and hours of film of him pulling oral and anal trains for senators and their friends.

Wonder if Barney Frank buggered him.

What do you expect from such a spineless GOPe. Don’t do what might be good for the country. What is the record of that agency? Seems most I’ve read it is a good ole boy handout to get rich. Instead of denying the cut, try to show some leadership and let your constituents understand why it should be cut. Zero base budgeting is the only way to go and make these asses defend their projects.

The ARC has been around for over 50 years and has done very little for Appalachia. It’s primarily a means for Appalachian politicians to funnel money to their home state & district pals to keep local machines beholden to them.

Love how McConnell says there will be no cuts...He is not the boss!

The commission may be worthless, but KY people think it is most useful.
