Low wage workers are fighting for Texas to increase its minimum wage, which is currently at $7.25 an hour. However, lawmakers have filed eight bills this session to try to change that, including increasing it to $10, or even $15 an hour. In particular, a group called "Fight for 15" testified before a House panel. The group argued that receiving less than that wage keeps people in poverty..."The economic reality of raising the minimum wage, just a blanket mandate on everyone, unfortunately, it's just not a reality,"

We obviously didn't learn the lesson that businesses will fail and prices will rise to off set any wage increase. Those on fixed incomes will be hurt when their retirements won't cover the new cost of living. But, hey, Austin libs just have to keep up with those cool jip Crazifornians. We've already had the imported Califreakazoids send our property assessments to ridiculous highs.

We didn't learn the lesson. Businesses in Texas will fail. But, hey, Austin libs just have to keep up with the Jones in Crazifornia.

Minimum wage jobs are not meant to be lifetime career jobs.

Do these morons expect to pay someone who dishes a scoop of ice cream $15 an hour?

The problem is you have all these third world hell hole immigrants coming here who can’t do anything except clean toilets. Eventually, many of these low skill jobs will be taken over by robots. Then what are we going do with these millions of low skill losers.

That will go no where in Texas. Used to love Austin, now you would have to pay me to go there again.

I already go to self-checkout in the grocery store, hardware store, fast food, gas station, and department store when it is available. Raising the minimum wage will drive even more entry-level jobs to automation. That will make life even harder for those who need to learn basic work skills and will have nowhere to do so.

For all, one must know that the minimum hourly wage rate that the major unions can afford to service is $15 an hour. If a worker earns less than this a national labor union will lose money in providing service and support for those members. Labor unions are not “ in business” to lose money. They also cannot afford to allow new members making less than $15 an hour to join their ranks knowing 1) they can be replaced by robots or 2) they are in entry level jobs in service or retail. These contracts could never be bargained to the $$ required to keep the union financially viable.

This is why the Dems must continue to push “the living wage” mantra and try to enforce it with the rule of law. Their greatest fear is President Trump’s successful presidency to truly MAGA. These people are so dense that they don’t realize a thriving American economy will bring back heavy industry and with it an increase in Union labor and jobs. A thriving economy is the rising tide that lifts all boats, but the Dems see it as a political death Nell.

The Dems are so power mad and so morally twisted at the top that they would engineer America’s demise in order to keep their power. Shades of Atlas Shrugged!

The political Left HAS learned that lesson well.

It is precisely what they want.

The chaos they cause will be blamed on Republicans.

It’s what they do.
