There may be no one with whom partisans on both sides of the political divide have a more conflicted relationship with than FBI Director James Comey. During the 2016 election cycle, he served for partisan liberals and conservatives as, at varying points, both savior and antagonist. Observers suffered whiplash watching as the FBI director evolved from upstanding and forthright public servant to political hack seemingly overnight. Today, while few will permit themselves to say it aloud, Democrats depended on Comey to corroborate their nagging suspicion that either Donald Trump or his associates collaborated with Russian officials. It was, thus, more than a little imprudent that so many Democrats spent the better part of the last five months attacking the FBI director’s credibility.

Recently had the opportunity to talk with a well educated, and well meaning, young Liberal about this obsession of the “left” with a Trump/Russia conspiracy. A very bright, well intentioned young Man, I mentioned to him the Irony of of the Leftists accusing Trump of allying with Russia, when the Left WORSHIPPED Russia in decades past. He actually said to me “When did Leftists like Russia”? An honest response from him, no question. It was instantly obvious to me that they are told what they need to know for every given scenario. He actually had no idea that American Leftists actually admired Russia at one time. This world of indoctrinated zombies is really quite amazing. I was stunned, but remained silent, as any refutation at that point, would have merely proved my insanity to him. It’s a very strange world.

Dir. Comey and Gen. Allen said there is no indication (evidence) of Russian wiretapping of Trump and no evidence of Russian tampering with the vote.
That leaves the NY Times and the media with the challenge of put-up or shut-up.
