Obama spying on Trump needs investigating
Washington Times ^ | March 15, 2017 | Andrew P. Napolitano

Posted on 03/16/2017 8:20:37 PM PDT by TBP

Mr. Obama would not have needed a warrant to authorize surveillance on Mr. Trump. Mr. Obama was the president and as such enjoyed authority under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to order surveillance on any person in America, without suspicion, probable cause or a warrant.

Thus, in 2016, when Mr. Trump says the surveillance of him took place, Mr. Obama needed only to ask the NSA for a transcript of Mr. Trump’s telephone conversations to be prepared from the digital versions that the NSA already possessed. Because the NSA has the digital version of every telephone call made to, from and within the U.S. since 2005, if Mr. Obama last year wanted transcripts of Mr. Trump’s calls made at any time, the NSA would have been duty-bound to provide them, just as it would be required to provide transcripts of Mr. Obama’s calls today if Mr. Trump wanted them.

I hope the investigations of Mr. Trump’s allegation discover and reveal the truth — whatever it is. But the lesson here is terribly serious. We face the gravest threat to personal liberty since the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 proscribed criticism of the government. We have an unelected, unnamed, unaccountable elite group in the intelligence community manipulating the president at will and possessing intimate, detailed knowledge about all of us that it can reveal. We have statutes that have given the president unconstitutional powers that have apparently been used. And we have judges on secret courts facilitating all this as if the Constitution didn’t exist.

For how much longer will we have freedom?

The NSA has the transcript of all phone calls made since 2005? Really?

Pres. Trump has not convinced many people that this actually happened. To add another category of speculation seems unproductive. Maybe he’s stringing this out for an as yet unknown reason.

Sort of.

The NSA is capturing all data going across certain networks. The specifics aren’t fully know but suffice it to say, IP data, and any data crossing the border is being collected wholesale.

With the Deep State/MSM working to undermine the legally elected President it is little wonder that the liberal leaning half of the country cannot see Obama’s willingness to abuse his office....

Everything is recorded and saved. Not everything is uncompressed and decoded.

Ever heard of Project Echelon......the British equivalent of the CIA circumvents the U S Constitution by spying on us & passing it on to the CIA, reportedly the CIA returns the favor for the British.....(no wonder there is little evidence for President Trump to produce)

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

“(no wonder there is little evidence for President Trump to produce)”

What do you know, or not know, of what Trump has available to produce? Are you in his inner circle?

Trump has had, and maintains to this day, his own security personnel and apparatus.

Does he do that because he’s a fool and likes to waste his own money on duplication of efforts.

Use your head man! Trump did not make these claims because he wanted a media circus. He lets politicians know what he wants them to know when he wants them to know it. Then he sits back while they speak publicly about it, in front of a camera. Then, and only then, he hands them their testicles on a sliver flat-screen platter.

Trust me, Trump learned that he was being spied on real-time because he pays people to lock his information down, and not with a two-bit lock. And by the way, he pays them bigly.

I would suggest to you, Trump’s security approached him and said, “sir, you’re being hacked and tracked starting at this point.”

And there was no doubt a Secret Service agent standing right there when he was informed. Do you remember those stories about the friction between Trump’s private security and the Secret Service?

Huh.

This is the best summation of this issue yet. Excellent work by Judge Napolitano.

old stuff — superseded by monsterous stuff.

so I have read in the last day or so on these threads.

IIRC one of the Freepers was GrandpaDave — explained in great detail how it all goes down now.

MSM is gushing that the Senate and House Intelligence Committees completed their investigations have come up with nothing! The investigations are completed after, what, a little over a week? That is a world record. Both the Senate and House completed all discovery, cross examining of witnesses, analyses, etc in a little over a week? Really?

FYI, I hear the Intelligence Community has a bridge up for sale and MSM is buying it and then trying to sell it to us.

Here is something to worry about:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3535454/posts

In particular this passage (hopefully this is not true):

Amazon holds a $600 million dollar contract with the CIA, and all 16 other intelligence agencies for all of their cloud hosting. This is helping all agencies share information, so breakdowns don't happen that would potentially allow another 9/11 level event take place.

“You have no evidence” means “You can’t prove it.”

It it a boast, not a denial.
