Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis’ pick for undersecretary of defense for policy, Anne Patterson, is problematic.
Politico briefly explains why:
If nominated and confirmed, Patterson would hold the fourth most powerful position at the Pentagon -- and would effectively be the top civilian in the Defense Department, since both Mattis and his deputy, Robert Work, were military officers.
As ambassador to Egypt between 2011 and 2013, Patterson worked closely with former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and his Islamist government. She came under fire for cultivating too close a relationship with the regime and for discouraging protests against it -- and White House officials are voicing concerns about those decisions now.
This is putting it mildly. Back during the months leading to the June 30, 2013 revolution, Patterson -- the “Brotherhood’s Stooge” as she was called by all, from news analysts to the Egyptian street -- was arguably one of the most hated individuals by the millions of Egyptians who took to the streets against Morsi and the Brotherhood.

On 15 August the Egyptian Finance Minister Momtaz El-Said met with US Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson on Wednesday to discuss previously promised US funding, as well as Egypt government efforts to restore Egypt’s national economy and a prospective International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan.
Regarding the IMF loan, Patterson said that given the political stability it was a “good time” for Egypt to resume negotiations with the IMF.

Let me throw this concept out there. Maybe it’s from watching too much NCIS.
Suppose the Trump people, now undoubtedly learning a whole bunch of horror from that former administration of sleaze buckets, communists and perverts. Suppose they find out that this woman was a traitor to America BUT....at the behest of the rats before her and I dunno, maybe she really believed in the Muslim Brotherhood as the good guys.
The Muslim Brotherhood, I remind, is the group headed by Valerie Jarret and Huma Abedin. They are not the good guys although for a small fee Obama will give them weapons and Hillary will make wild ass treaties.
The MB is basically a group of anyone, NOT a Shiekh or poobah, that wants to take over the Mideast and all the oil that the Saudi nuts have no exclusive right to.
The MB takeover in Egypt did not work. Bear in mind that Egypt had a big riot a couple days before Benghazi.
Eventually the MB was thrown out because nobody wants to be governed by a bunch of strangers, not even the stupid Muslims.
Obama and Hillary received mucho bucks from the Muslim Brotherhood and they returned many favors.
Maybe this person was thrown up against a wall-figuratively-and told they better help or they’re going to jail.
I dunno, mock if you will. But there is a cesspool of corruption, even more than I ever dreamed possible, from those prior horrible people running this country.

I don’t like how this sounds. But frankly I don’t have an informed opinion on this person for this position but I definitely don’t want a “Brotherhood stooge.” Will monitor....
