Once again bypassing the hopelessly jaundiced media, President Trump announced that he just learned that his predecessor in the White House bugged Trump Tower during the last election.
“This is McCarthyism!” he declared, in 140 characters or less.
All the digits fit to print! “Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wiretapping’ a race for president prior to an election?” Mr. Trump wondered, very loudly. “Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!”
“I bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!”
Ever litigious and meticulous about any slight, Mr. Trump is always on the march for justice.
“How low has President Obama gone to tap my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”
Cue total media freakout.

What I find interesting to note and that I just thought about.
What became known as the Patriot Act, prior to 9-11-01, had been blasted and totally rejected, in all of the previous attempts to ram something of that nature through.
Why? The main reason was that it violated privacy in every aspect. And that, in and of itself, was totally unacceptable.
Right up until our “Reichstag Fire” moment in history.
It was passed how many day’s later? A mere 45 days later...
And here we are today...
Obama watched the Clintons and learned “if they got THIS much mileage out of a few hundred purloined FBI files, imagine what I can do downloading the entire database of the NSA!”
