Attorney General Jeff Sessions

is slated to attend a dinner with President Trump and other administration officials on Saturday night at the president's private Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, the White House said.

The dinner comes after reports that Trump was angry Sessions recused himself from any investigations into Russia’s interference in the U.S. presidential election.

Sessions made the announcement Thursday during a press conference, hours after Trump said he had "total" confidence in his attorney general and said he didn't think he needed to recuse himself.

The attorney general's decision came after Democratic lawmakers called for his resignation after it was revealed that Sessions twice spoke with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. during the campaign last year.

Sessions, who was a senator at the time though served as an adviser to Trump’s campaign, did not disclose the conversations during his confirmation hearings earlier this year and said he didn't speak with Russians.

“I have now decided to recuse myself of any existing or future investigations of any matter relating in any way to the campaigns for president of the United States,” he said at the Department of Justice.

Sessions will attend the dinner along with Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, White House counsel Don McGahn and senior advisor Stephen Miller, according to the White House.

Sessions and Kelly will meet with Trump prior...

Do you think Preibus demanded that Sessions recuse himself?
I thought that would be between Sessions and Trump, but I don’t really know how the chain of command works in any White House.

We won’t be happy until we see Obama, Hillary, Jarrett, Lynch and Holder frog-marched to the nearest court house. This is a nation of laws, and they have been on the loose too long.

I think it might have been Sessions idea: it is the straight-shooters choice and makes him look less like a Holder or Lynch.

This recusal is NOT because Sessions is indicating he did anything wrong.

The recusal is appropriate because matters relating to the campaign will be investigated and Sessions was a prominent campaign surrogate who also helped develop major campaign platform issues (immigration, drug cartels, etc.).

He was a sufficiently formal part of the campaign that he should be recused from any investigation of the campaign, its personnel and activities even if he was not one of the individuals at question. Simply conflict-of-interest recusal.

So much fake news out it is hard to tell what is true anymore. I bet they will be discussing the Obama wiretap of the Trump Towers.

Will this be the “behind the woodshed “ meeting? Or, to formulate plans for the final takedown of the “shadow government”?

I hope not. That shows a disturbing lack of situational awareness.

To the Progs, he is Assistant to the Devil and Lerner/Holder are pure as snow (well, if snow was black, because saying snow is pure because its white is ray-cess). Nothing will change that.

To us, Sessions needs to do whatever he needs to do to put the Obama/Clinton/Soros crowd in prison, especially Holder and Lynch. Nothing will change that.

He needs to hold his course, ring up All Ahead Flank, and sound the Collision Alarm.

Sessions will not be recusing himself from the wiretap case.

...

I watched Session’s press conference. His recusal has nothing to do with the confirmation hearing, but the crooks in the media are implying otherwise.

...

Session’s himself said the recusal was made after he met with his ethics committee within the DOJ, which had been planned several days ahead of time and had nothing to do with his confirmation hearing.

Notice that Trump's Tuesday speech to Congress, which is already one of the best presidential addresses ever made to Congress, is now completely off the radar.

Trump's bold vision for America is ignored, and his agenda has been ground to a screeching halt.

They are not going to let Trump do his job. This is the overall objective of the political Left and establishment Right, to surround Trump with fake news, fake scandals, accusations, riots, witch-hunts, and "investigations," so that Trump doesn't get anything done.

Approaching 50 days now and only a fraction of Trump's cabinet choices have been confirmed. SCOTUS pick not even hearings yet. Trump has only signed 1 or 2 pieces of legislation from Congress and even those were token pieces - the rest have all been EOs.

I really think this country is approaching a breaking point and that our government is thoroughly corrupted and possibly run by foreign plutocrats and billionaire Islamic elites. It is this breaking point when everything is going to be made crystal clear per Revelations in the Bible, and Americans will decide if they will have the guts to fight like our forefathers did or meekly submit to a globalist elite dedicated to fulfilling prophecy.

We have to assume, at this point, that every member of Trump’s family, campaign staff, cabinet nominees and transition team were/are being monitered and under surveillance by the Obama shadow government. A coup is being attempted.

Why does he have to keep going to Mar a Lago?! This is like the 4th trip in a month!

It does cost him and the taxpayers a fortune every time he goes. I hate to admit it but he is on track to to spend a lot more time and money on vacations than zer0 did. Very bad optics. It’s getting harder and harder to defend him on this point.

Most people can only dream of spending a night at the White House. Would it kill him to spend a weekend there? It’s supposed to be his home for the next 8 years even though it might be a step down for him. Do any of the Trumps actually live there?
