The themes he talks about, the role of government in our lives, what this country means, all of this-that was him. It was so genuine in him. And so germane to what we are going through now.
Interesting to me, I always liked Reagan, but after watching this, it hit me like a thunderbolt:
>br> I miss him.
There was so much going on at that time. The world was in turmoil, but I felt pretty safe knowing he was in charge. Never realized it until now that I felt that way.
he made brown look good.
He was a handsome man...knew how to carry himself.
Yes he was.......two of the greats on that show.
If only the Reps had picked him instead of Ford in 1976. I swear most of the time I’m actually embarrassed to be a Republican because they are so suicidal. Let’s pick the world’s most boring man over the future savior of the world.
My daughter was born on Pres. Reagan’s 73rd birthday. Her daughter is named Reagan. When little Reagan sees his photo, she tells me he’s a hero.
Johnny Carson was a lefty, but was smart enough to conceal it on TV. He thus had huge ratings, as opposed to the politicized talk shows of today, which draw far smaller numbers.
