Democrats' pick to respond to Trump's speech was selected for one huge reason
Yahoo News ^ | 3/1/2017 | Bob Bryan

Steve Beshear, the former governor of Kentucky, has been tapped to deliver the Democratic party's response to President Donald Trump's address to both house of Congress for one big reason.

The move may seem odd. Beshear currently holds no elected office after his second term expired in 2015 (Kentucky has a two-term limit for governors) and is not the traditional idea of a "rising star" in the party that typically uses the spot to launch themselves into the national spotlight.

Democrats are pathetic.

The Washington establishment Democrats chose a retired Democrat governor being investigated for widespread corruption who said he was a Republican.

The Democrats chose a former governor whose Chief of Staff plead guilty to accepting bribes.

What is comical is that his son was elected AG at the same time Bevin was elected as the new governor. It appeared that one of Bevin’s main priorities was to clean out Beshear’s remaining cronies and Beshear’s son’s ONLY priority was to try to stop Bevin at every move.

The result: After a year of that the state houses went all republican for the first time in almost a century. But it gets better: They are SUPERMAJORITIES. :)

Politically, Kentucky has become a microcosm of what is going on in federal politics.

He was picked because the dopes in the Dem Party think that by putting an old white guy on camera, they can win back white working-class voters.

Ultimate trolling? They do try hard to show democrat members of the KKK off as being Republicans.

Democrats finally realized they have a white voter problem after having denigrated and assaulted white Americans for the past 8 years...

He was pathetic, wasn’t he?

I was embarrassed for the Democrats, at his official Democrat response to Trump. What a bizarre speech.

And why pick an old guy, who is likely done with politics? He’s not any rising star; his time has come and gone.

Most Americans had never heard of him, and we’ll probably never see him again on the national stage.

[During Beshear’s time as governor, he embraced the ACA and its numerous reforms.]

I’m guessing this is why he’s the FORMER governor....

LOL — turns out he was a big Obamacare supporter. Dems probably figure that liability won’t cost them another seat because he’s currently not an officeholder...

Does it matter?
They were determined to hate President Trump's speech long before they heard it.

Yep, that was the reason. The democrats have been a party in decline since REagan, but we keep propping them up, because we can’t field anyone better, and until now a TRUE conservative.

And I’m sorry, Mitch, I doubt very much that you’re little Marco, Tired and low energy Jeb or any other of that bunch of losers would have given as good a speech.

Not only is he a proud democrat and a proud republican but, he’s “mostly” American.

Mostly? Does that mean like 80% American and a 20% mixture of other things?

He said someone in his family owned a funeral home? I think he better get in line.

These people are beyond stupid.
