I could be wrong. Mrs. rktman reminds me of that on occasion.

Not in this instance.

This will just go back to the SCOTUS.

Probably the saddest part of the whole thing is that there is even a question being posed.

Heller held that the 2nd Amendment confers an individual not a collective right to keep and bear arms”

Thank God we have the 4th Circuit to Overturn This dangerous ruling by the inferior supreme Court.

Why isn’t the constitutional provision for “Letters of Marques and Reprisals” brought up when arguing against “military-grade” weapon bans?

It seems obvious that the Founding Fathers meant for privateers to have cannons on their ships - the most powerful weapons in existence at the time - in order to make war against our enemies on the government’s behalf.

Is it a losing proposition? Meaning, we would basically be arguing that Letters of Marques and Reprisals require government “permission” to use the weapons?

I would think it would be a winning argument. Letters of Marques and Reprisals prove that powerful weaponry in the hands of citizens was something the FF condoned and encouraged.

So true!

And, since everybody already owns one or twelve “assault” rifles and they are the most popular weapon on the market its not likely Congress is going to pass another assault rifle ban. A few individual libtards states will try it. I think Maryland has done it.

Actually NY set the stage when they did the exact same thing Washington is doing now- I said it back then that if NY got away with their unconstitutional ban, and they did, that it would go national- and it is- I believe a couple of other states followed NY- after ‘courts upheld NY’s ban’

They are very soon going to be coming for your guns- this is just the first steps- once this goes national, they will begin banning many other firearms as well- but for now, they are banking on the hysteria of the unsuspecting low info public to turn against ‘scary dangerous unnecessary ‘assault rifles’ and ‘dangerous weapons of war’

Once they get the public sufficiently worked up over these ‘scary looking weapons’ then they will begin brainwashing the masses to believe that all weapons are scary

How much loss of liberty will the American public stand for?

To: rktman; All

Patriots, we need a new Congress that is willing to impeach and remove corrupt judges from the bench.

Back in the Clinton era, I thought that , if necessary, we would fight tooth and toenail for our freedom[s]. Time has proven me wrong. Not only have we not fought, but a majority of voters demanded, via their votes, that a muslim have the rule over them. I no longer hold the illusion that we will defend our freedoms by any method necessary. I now only hope that the status quo can be maintained until I leave this World. I wish that I could tell you that we will tolerate no more loss of our freedom, Bob, but I can’t. The only thing I can for sure say is that I will not go into a Government Camp. If they come for us before I die a natural death, I will die fighting them in my front yard.

For a very good read on the subject check out "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross.
(ISBN-10: 1888118040)

A lot of history about the gun culture and government attacks on the 2nd amendment in a fictional format.

It's fairly expensive but you can read it or download it as a PDF here:

Or just search "unintended consequences by john ross download"

I’m with you on that- I was very disappointed when obama won the first election- but chalked it up to a naive country ‘wanting change’ - and figured they would see the light and vote him out once he began to ruin the country- they didn’t- and my heart sunk- I had lost quite a bit of hope after first election, but the second election really drove a steak through hope- especially after the fact that the prices of everything rose so much, gasoline was over $4 gallon- anbd traditionally, the people never voted someone back in when prices soared like they did- and the threat of unconstitutional acts against the public by the president- I thought sure America would finally get it- but nope- they didn’t- A quick story durign htat time to illustrate why I felt America had perhaps permanently lsot it’s way

A Fox reporter asked a woman why she voted for obama, and she got this crap eating grin on her face, shrugged her shoulder, and said “So i can get me some of that obama-money” and when he asked her where she thought that money would come from she got the same crap eating grin on her face, shrugged her shoulders gain and said “It’s just free, that’s all”

I knew then that Americans were willing to give up their freedoms for a chance at that ‘obamamoney’- thinking he’d take care of them- Sure, they got obamaphones, and they got perhaps a hundred dollars or so- but what they had to pay in higher prices, skyrocketting fuel prices, and now healthcare costs far outweighed what little they ‘got for free’

It’s just very sad that they aren’t smart enough to figure this out- they get a hundred ‘for free’ but lose a couple of thousand, yet still think they are ahead?

A Republican winning helped restore a little faith in America’s ability to do the right thing, but we’ll see how the midterm elections go- IF America doesn’t kick the liberals bums out then we could be in trouble in the next election- we’ll see how the midterms do- hopefully the pendulum has swung back to the right-
