Apparently, that well known piece of advice from the Bible is falling on deaf ears in southern California.
A network of churches is organizing resistance to the new immigration enforcement policies of the federal government by developing a network of "safe houses" to shelter illegal alien families from deportation.
The author cited the wrong scripture. That quote was from Mark 12:17
Romans 13:1, which the author cites, reads thusly:
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”
Arrest them for aiding and abetting. Problem solved.
Well, then, "Pastor," I hope you're also going to shelter rapists, bank robbers, and murderers, shielding them from arrest and incarceration. Wouldn't want to separate them from their families.
Isn’t that cute. Here they’re thinking they’re gonna get bankrolled by the government like they have been for illegals dispersement (and now they WON’T)......Lord help them if they think the Pope or somebody in Church Hierarchy is gonna foot the bill... hahahahahahaha! That crap will stop as soon as the bigwigs in the church get the bills.

If I did not pay my taxes or even owe a huge amount I can’t pay, will the IRS agents arrest me? if so, aren’t they going to break up my family too? Where’s their compassion for me?
The Democrats have to fight tooth and nail to save their largest voting bloc, but in the process they’re alienating more Americans. Rush was so right on his show a few days back when he said one of the best things resulting from the Trump presidency is that the lefties can’t hide anymore. The president is forcing these people to the surface where we can see them out in the open. They have no choice. Their entire political operation is on the line, and they’re desperate.
I guess this is one way for “churches” to fill the pews.
Prosecute them.

Great. Let the burden of supporting illegal aliens fall on the “resistors” and bankrupt them.
Remove the tax deductibility of donations to the “aiding & abetting” churches as well as their non-profit status. Soon THEY will be seeking sanctuary!
If we simply cut off all the funding and jobs to illegals, this crap will not last long.

Exactly.
What the churches are trying to do probably sounds good on paper to them, but is totally impractical in the long term. They will secretly house, feed, clothe and support hundreds or thousands of families? Ridiculous. Imagine the expense and the logistics involved. Fine, let them do it. They will be bankrupted in weeks.
Let them go look for a job for work......I just don’t want them getting a single damn dime of government entitlement or support. Nor do I want anyone helping them to get any tax benefits or consideration just for helping them out. And I do not want our efforts to round them up and oust them curtailed.
They are illegal by any definition of the term and there is no provision to equivocate that by any measure simply because of “we oughta blah, blah blah....” Change the damn law or shut the hell up.
