Full Title............................California Goes One Step Beyond ObamaCare, Proposes Single-Payer Healthcare System to Include Illegal Aliens..............................California Democrats made a surprise move late Friday to foil President Trump’s promise to repeal ObamaCare—by introducing a stand-alone, single-payer healthcare system in California.

The Mercury News reported that two California lawmakers Friday introduced legislation to replace private insurance with a government-run health care system covering all 38 million Californians—including its undocumented residents.

“We’ve reached this pivotal moment,” Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens), told the Mercury News in an interview Friday, “and I thought to myself: `Look, now more than ever is the time to talk about universal health care.’”

The article went on to report that the proposal dubbed the ‘Healthy California Act’, introduced by Lara and former Assembly Speaker, now State Senator Toni Atkins, (D-San Diego) — was submitted just before the deadline for new legislation—and for such a sweeping proposal, it remarkably short on specifics.

And when it all goes wrong they will be asking for a bailout from the rest of the country.

Vermont tried this and quietly abandoned it.

Wow, replace all private insurance for single payer? Sounds like I’m getting UHC whether I want it or not. Will I have to pay for it? You know the illegals won’t.

Let California go with single payer if they want - but they MUST pay for it themselves.

That is the beauty of our Federal system. They can attempt things, with the approval of their own citizens, that are faster and more easily implemented than the Federal Government ever can.

Have friends who supply to State of California with a diverse range of products

Slow to no payment has been the rule for the last several years

Some have cut off supply until bills are payed

California has some real budget problems

Already been tried in Vermont. Miserable failure:

If Kalifornia uses state dollars, they’re perfectly within their rights to do this. Not one penny of Federal funds, however.

When they leave the U.S., how do they think this stuff will paid for? Have they given it the least little bit of thought at all?

If any one of the individual states wants to go to a “single-payer” form of insurance coverage, then that should be of no concern regarding Obamacare. After all, Massachusetts had introduced their own form of state-run medical insurance prior to the introduction of Obamacare. But it would be expected that California would be able to bear the financial costs they will incur by introduction of this system, and not call upon the Federal Government to bail them out when the inevitable cost overruns begin pelting them in the Gluteus Maximus.

You know, the same place where they will be getting bitten.

The nice thing about states choosing to provide universal health care is that if you don’t like it, you can move to another state - as CA is discovering about a lot of things. Imagine how much their population would shrink if they didn’t have any illegals.

Won’t the congressmen exclude themselves from the plan? Won’t that bother the all-powerful teachers’ unions? Silicon valley moguls? etc. etc. Premiums go up, care goes down. Can’t wait!
