White House press secretary Sean Spicer forcefully denied on Friday that the Trump administration is considering a proposal to mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up illegal immigrants, including millions living nowhere near the Mexico border.
'That is 100 per cent not true. It is false. It is irresponsible to be saying this,' Spicer told reporters aboard the Marine One helicopter.
'There is no effort at all to round up, to utilize the National Guard to round up illegal immigrants.'

Too bad, I wish we would get that serious about deporting illegal aliens.
Not just those who have already been convicted of other crimes here. Why should we give illegal aliens the opportunity to harm of kill Americans before we deport them?
All illegal aliens are subject to deportation.
Even those whose deportation was illegally deferred by Obama’s illegal DACA program.
DACA is still operating as if it were law.

Daily Mail uses the term “denies”, with its pejorative connotation of defensiveness.
NBC (!) stated that the White House identified the AP report as “untrue” or “false” (I can’t remember the actual wording).
NBC was actually more honest than Daily Mail.

Is it illegal to use the National Guard to round up the illegals? If they are federalized under Title 10 and fall under the command of the President, then posse comitatus would apply.
If they remain under command of their respective governors, then it's perfectly OK.
(Having said that, posse comitatus is just a statute. The Republican Congress could temporarily waive it by statute...and pigs could fly)
