Not allowing illegal immigrants to collect food stamps, medicare, social security, TANF, etc. will have a YUGE, positive effect on the viability of entitlements going forward.

Also, in the same way that True The Vote compared people filing paperwork to get out of Jury Duty by claiming they are not citizens with the voting roles to find possible voter fraud, the Trump administration needs to compare those claiming not to be citizens (jury duty) with IRS filings (especially if claiming EITC) and/or other benefits they are not entitled to.

To your points: I do believe Trump is an "Operator", in the military sense of the word, and your comment that Bannon is Atwater with a mean streak is very comforting.

It is my thesis that these actions are influenced or even directed by Obama, who sits a mere two blocks down the street. Perhaps a little NSA manpower, vetted well, can be dedicated to 'protecting the former President's communications', if you catch my wink-wink drift.

Further, the EO that Obama signed just before leaving that agencies may all share NSA information needs to be immediately overturned. Compartmentalize the beast.

On the whole, though, your thoughts on the deep state are comforting to me. I appreciate it. I pray you are right.

While I, like most of us, are still trying to figure out the ins and outs of the Flynn situation, one of the things that truly puzzles me is the total lack of concern among the players in the IC and at DOJ (Sallie Yates) regarding the requirements of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act

Interesting parts include § 1801 on “Minimization procedures”, with respect to electronic surveillance, including strict limitations on retention of information (as short as 72 hrs) § 1802 requirements on the Attorney General including informing the Select Intelligence Committees: § 1806 on permissible uses and required notifications prior to use § 1809 - Criminal sanctions [10 years in prison per violation] and most interesting § 1810 providing victims with a statutory right to sue violators, as individuals, for damages, punitive damages, costs and attorneys fees.

I would imagine that there is a big ruhh rooh going on in a lot of places where people thought they were just having a whale of a good time yesterday.

Remember, these rules were put into place at the insistance of [leftist] civil liberties folks to protect individuals from exactly what they just did not Flynn [probably thinking they were defending drug lords or something]. But it is a very serious act with very serious consequences.

So with all of this, where are we really with Flynn, Pence, Trump and the NSC? Was this all a ploy to flush some real dirty and foolish idiots out of the system?

Can someone ask any of those morons in the Democrat/GOPe/media cabal who are trying to paint the Russians as our enemy one simple question?

If the Russians are supposed to be our enemy, then why are we relying on them to resupply the International Space Station (ISS) with a rocket launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan one week from today?

And why do three of the four manned missions to the ISS scheduled this year have Russian commanders instead of NASA commanders?

This might be kind of natural ignorance, but I don’t understand why the entire fight against any shadow spook government should be done in secret by the Trump admin. The part that twists up my understanding is that Trump won because of the honest way he talked directly to the American people. We just had the most transparent(ly corrupt) administration in history. I believe to fight the enemy within, including it’s still powerful hydra-headed media, Trump needs to speak about this, or at a presser, introduce someone very convincing to speak about it.

Like I said on Laz’s thread this morning (actually yesterday now), the President needn’t give away any of his strategy. Just to have him tell the people, even as one of his little asides that he does so well, “I knew it was gonna be bad. I knew they were gonna fight me on everything. I DIDNT KNOW IT WOULD BE THIS BAD. I couldn’t have imagined the depths of corruption, the tangled web of people who are so afraid to lose they are trying, desperately, anything they can to stop what you elected me to do. Just know that nothing they do will stop me...” I believe more people need to hear it from him that there is sabotage afoot, enemies inside the gate. I want more Americans to realize he’s fighting people within our government who don’t have our interests at heart at all. I want him to keep up his honest communication with us; I think it will help him.

But you know far more about these things than I do. I could be way off.

I see the FBI records release as just more evidence, as if we needed it, that holding over Comey was wrong. There seems to be some erroneous thinking in the Trump admin that if you give an enemy something, or put them in a position of power and trust, that they will “owe” you and come around. I present Priebus and all the GOPe, including the hiring of McConnell’s wife and naming of Pence as VP, as evidence to the contrary. As I understand it, Pompeo is a Paul Ryan man, and the early evidence is that he and his agency are on the other team, too.

I absolutely adore Bannon and Miller, but I don’t trust the liberal politics of Ivanka and Jared, and Jared’s advice, as reported, suggests to me that he’s especially over his head (as well, of course, as having been a lifelong Manhattan Democrat).

The great news from my observation so far is that Trump is largely one of us, and understands and intends to address more of the nation’s problems than we could reasonably have hoped for.

The bad news is that he has brought in Priebus and let Priebus bring in loads of others who are clearly working against him. That is a massive unforced error IMO that is just worse and worse the longer it continues.
