Less than a month in to the new administration, President Trump's National Security Adviser, Gen. Michael Flynn, resigned after reports that he had misled his White House colleagues, including Vice President Mike Pence, about conversations he'd had with Russia's ambassador to Washington.
In those conversations, Flynn discussed sanctions that the Obama administration had imposed on Russia to punish Moscow for its interference in the U.S. election. Those conversations could have violated the Logan Act, which prevents unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments in relation to "disputes or controversies." The law, however, which was enacted in the 1790s, has never been used to prosecute anyone.
Here's the timeline of events leading up to Flynn's resignation:

Seriously, why doesn’t Trump REFUSE his resignation???
I want to see the timeline to the Los Angeles Times being shuttered.
I agree. Don’t give them a lousy inch, because they will want to take every mile there is. Ignore them!!!
I agree with this.
Tell the outsiders to pound sand.
Because accepting it is the right thing to do.
Flynn f----d up, plain and simple, and the Democrats collected his scalp as a result.
There's absolutely no need for President Trump to pick a fight on this losing issue.
If Flynn was completely innocent of wrongdoing, that would be different. But he messed up, and now he's had to pay for that with his job.
President Trump is going to put this incident behind him, as he should, and not let it become an ongoing distraction...
I’m personally glad to see the Logan Act being brought up. Hopefully it will be used after the next Bilderberg meeting as well.
Unfortunately Trump *asked* for Flynn’s resignation.
Apparently, Flynn made possibly ambiguous statements to others besides VP Pence, including Spicer, according to Spicer, who is the Trump press secretary.

He is a Democrat and was also hired and fired by Obama.
“Michael Flynn, fired once by Obama, now resigns to Trump. ... The center of a storm is a familiar place for Flynn. His military career ended when Obama dismissed him as defense intelligence chief. Flynn claimed he was pushed out for holding tougher views than the Obama administration about Islamic extremism”.
Sally Yates?! The Sally Yates fired for refusing to do her job and posting a very unprofessional explanation for her actions?
The Logan Act?! The Logan Act that has never been used to prosecute anyone who “violated” it (most of whom appear to be Democrats)?
This timeline is a joke, isn’t it?
(1) I didn’t know the President asked for his resignation.
(2) I didn’t know Flynn had covered it up.
I stand -— corrected.
