Don't know much about the UCMJ (almost nothing,in fact) but I've read one or two things about “undue command influence”.Of course Trump was just a private citizen when he declared this pig to be guilty.

Is this a military trial or a civil trial? Don’t think it is an issue in a military trial as all officers in the jury are under code of conduct? Might be an issue in a civil trial but it just means you move the trial?
So....................it is grandstanding?

Certainly, Bergdahl can get a fair trial, he can plead guilty or be convicted guilty by a jury.

I disagree. He’s a traitor and an enemy combatant. He defected to the enemy and fought alongside the Taliban which is why they didn’t kill him. They then came up with this scam where he would pose as a POW to help free 5 Taliban commanders and to their surprise it worked because we also had a traitor as President.

This is known as the Charles Manson defense.
I seem to recall that the lawyers for the Manson family claimed they could not get a fair trial after President Nixon declared them guilty (it ran as a headline somewhere).
