This is the same story told by Christian and Yazidi refugees. Anonymity and staying really low profile is key in the (PSD) personal security detail contracting world. Never any photos. Always dress native, urbanflage, random versus routine schedules. Internet activity through Tor, Tails, 12P, VPN’s , email drafts on a shared access address with recipient that never are sent just stored in a draft etcetera.
Personal items like pictures or information not brought into the country. We even would call a few old retired buddies on a satellite phone who would then forward our calls through a Skype VOIP account on a VPN to our loved ones on a schedule where they were on free WiFi at random, never from home or work or the same places twice to safely communicate without endangering either party. .....
Can’t be hanging out in the wind like that and ....stay safe. As well one error in a set in stone protocol by any member of your group puts all at a greater level of risk, not just you.

I can vouch for that.
Also security contractors, while they make good money compared to the military, it is not really commensurate with the risks involved.
