DETROIT, MI - Little Caesars Pizza founder Mike Ilitch, the billionaire sportsman and champion for Detroit, died Friday at an area hospital.
He was 87.
"My father was a once-in-a-generation entrepreneur, visionary and leader, setting the tone for our organization and our family," his son and Ilitch Holdings Inc. President and CEO Christopher Ilitch said in a statement. "He made such a positive impact in the world of sports, in business and in the community, and we will remember him for his unwavering commitment to his employees, his passion for Detroit, his generosity to others and his devotion to his family and friends."

I used to buy a couple of pizzas from them on a Friday or Saturday when my kids were small. They were not the best, but they were cheap and good enough.
Sad.
I was just reminded of the Little Caesar’s all-you-can-eat buffets at Fort Benning. Made me happy, sad, and sick all at the same time. RIP.
I’m sure a bunch of little Ilitch’s are itching for a cut.
Let’s hope the feds don’t get a cut to support more illegals and islamo filth.
The children and grandchildren have been running the show for a while now. Grew up on Little Caesars and faygo (Originally Feigenson brothers beverage company). Mike and his family was one of the few things right about Detroit for a long time. RIP.

This is going to get interesting as his estate is settled. He and his wife, from what I understand, split the ownership between the sports teams and the casinos. Always was a conflict, and it was said one would inherit the other. Now she will own all of it.......Ruh ro.

I’ve been breaking limestone into dirt just to grow the veggies for so long with the added chore of baiting hogs and goats to make the rest on my own I guess I’m jaded.

My town has a bunch of quality small family run pizza joints and i still see people buying from Domino’s, Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, etc..

Brilliant way to make money. A few ounces of flour, some crappy tomato sauce, mediocre cheese, a few low Q toppings, a factory assembly line and the lowest IQ employees working for the lowest wage.
When we moved from Michigan to Maryland, proximity to a
little Caesars was one of our home buying criteria.
