Entire Homeschooling Family Kidnapped by the State

Perhaps there is a possibility that this story is Fake News.

Say what? Rights are now granted by the State? I thought they were "endowed by our Creator" (DOI)?

I think there is more going on than what we are led to believe.

Yeah, I read this story and said, "There's more to it than what we're seeing". No mention of a father, wonder if there's a nasty custody battle going on. Or, some bureaucrat with an axe to grind.

I dislike Social Services as much as the next conservative, but I may withhold judgment on this one until more info comes out. Something doesn't smell right, especially if all of the paperwork was signed off on, the I's are dotted and T's are crossed.

I do wonder what's going on. Some people in the state system really are antagonistic toward homeschooling in toto, on an ideological level, and openly advocate making it illegal; but since they can't accompish that, they simply obstruct wherever they can.

(My family homeschooled for eleven years and never ran into this: the local school board was entirely cooperative. But I have read some DOE and NEA officials' statements expressing an across-the-board disapproval of homeschooling.)

Some other officials are quite willing to coexist with homeschoolers,but want to make sure everything is "properly regulated." Some of this may indeed be proper, and some of it overbearing, intrusive and unnecessary.

Some officials maybe just want to prevent kooks from isolating their kids and denying them any meaningful education at all.

From what I've read about this case elsewhere, the mom is apparently a member of a group called the Five Percenters, an offshoot of the Nation of God and Earth (NGE), itself an offshoot of the Nation of Islam (NOI).

They believe the white man is the devil and the black man is god.

She might have antagonized the authorities. I don't know.

C P S is really a govt agency interested in self growth. 5 years ago our clan was caught up with a case worker and judge of color. Big city. judge even wrote and published earlier about there not being enough non-minority people in ‘the system’ — so he seized the opportunity to persecute our white family.
