Republic of China have a LOT of connection with USA, People’s Republic is a different beast.
China’s claim to Taiwan to be actually legitimate? People’s republic has never ever possess the island of taiwan. mongolia should be part of china and yet they gave them up to independence so easily. hell, genghis khan is china!

We already sell them arms and are treaty bound to defend them from an attack by China, but yet we can’t recognize them. I don’t like the idea of China dictating our policy and who we can/can’t recognize or speak to.
The majority of people in Taiwan want independence, and they would be an American ally if they were independent.

I'm not heartless about Taiwan or any other country. But America has been supporting the world with its military for decades, with not much to show for it.
Time for the rest of the world to grow up, put on their big boy pants, and be independent of Uncle Sugar.

do you know how much money we’re giving to other shit countries compare to taiwan? you should start with those top 25 countries first. Afghanistan, 4533 millions, What historical, cultural, and racial connections and tradition does Afghanistan share with America? Other suspects on the list are Egypt, Jordan, West Bank!?, Ethiopia... beyond that, the only information I can find for Taiwan is mere 2 million from 2012. taiwan does spend 1.83 Billion on u.s arms. so who’s got the better deal?
