Yes, it's otherwise known as provocation, and today's edition of it is particularly good because it has a grain of credibility to it. About like a bunch of Republicans to want to protect the status quo, no matter what it is, right?

So it's got that going for it; let's all get up in arms over... what, exactly? Republican fecklessness, or, as is noted elsewhere in this thread, maybe just one guy who didn't get the play?

“It needs to be replaced with something else.”

Great analogy. Fortunately there weren’t health insurance and pharmaceutical lobbyists spreading around a lot of cash to keep the steam car project going.

What also needs to be replaced with something else are the GOP-e hacks who are interfering with everything the voters put Trump in office to do.

Just imagine more of those huge enthusiastic Trump rallies, only this time dedicated to primarying his GOP-e opponents.

“”After reading that I feel like a need a rabies shot.””

Well, at least you read it. I couldn’t take it. Too much snarky sarcasm for me. It reminded me of the way Ann Coulter used to use sarcasm in her articles and books. It’s not necessary. People want to read certain authors and they already know the negatives of the subject and don’t need the sarcasm thrown in. I don’t know if she still writes that way as I haven’t read any of her books in a long time because of that and I’d always purchased them before I got fed up with that style.

The best and fastest bet to get doctors on board is for, oddly enough, government *incentives* to get doctors to no longer accept *either* government or insurance company funding on patient care.

The efficiency of this is staggering. Those doctors who no longer take Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance, just cash, not only can charge 50% less to their patients, but make more money themselves.

And the “incentives” I’m talking about here are not money, but to legislatively make it *easy* for doctors to do it this way without nagging and expensive government interference and mindless regulations.

If you want to envision the impact of this, look at the comparison of hospital emergency rooms vs. urgent care centers.

Before urgent care, ERs were overwhelmed, mostly with small stuff. Extremely expensive, time consuming, and aggravating. But urgent care now bleeds off a LOT of the petty stuff.

Say a poor person has a child with a painful earache. They can either wait 4 hours in an ER for a “free” appointment that will last less than 5 minutes, while their child suffers; or they can *pay* $25 to have their child’s earache treated *now* at urgent care.

The same with doctors who run private practices. Without Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance doctors only need one or two employees for the paperwork. Not five or seven dedicated to just filling out paperwork for the government and insurance companies.

The two most onerous of the burdens are the HIPAA and HITECH laws. Both of those need either major reforms or to be eliminated entirely. The latter exists almost exclusively so that 50 or so federal agencies can read your medical file any time they want to, thus utterly destroying the “doctor-patient privilege”. To HELL with that. And to HELL with what most of those agencies do.

Eliminate the employer mandate and the individual mandate, and the whole thing will collapse.

Eliminate the employer mandate and the individual mandate, and the whole thing will collapse.

Repeal the individual subsidies and the corporate subsidies and it will die overnight. Much faster.

This sounds like an attempt to avoid the blame for something that is irredeemable, but is the best bad idea they can think of.

Don’t repair it. Rip it out by its roots; stomp on it and burn it to ashes.

Be careful. The Ministry of Propaganda Media would love nothing more than to see us infight. Snowybear notes this is based on the statement of ONE Gop senator.

Don't buy the lies.

This is what needs to happen to Obamacare. It is not viable. It needs to be replaced with something else. And “something else” could be reverting back to what we had before Obamacare. We can then fix THAT.
>

Viable? O’Care was never about viability; nor was SS, MediXYZ, DoEd, EPA, TSA, NSA...

Govt doesn’t have the AUTHORITY, first and foremost!!

Each and *EVERY* one was to expand the size and scope of govt by 5 steps, then the ‘opposition’ take one back. Property stolen (taxes), graft and fraud abound and Rights and Freedom are trampled\suppressed that We the People no longer remember a time where it wasn’t so.

Like 99% of Fedzilla (and prob. damn close per the State): Rip it out, salt the Earth, nuke the site and hang the remains to remind all of what was.

Doctors?

IMO, not w/o torm reform. The scum-sucking lawyers (in the courts a/o halls of govt) create NOTHING but obtuse legalize that require more stickers on a ladder than wood/aluminum.

If a doctor can be forced to accept only X% pay\per procedure\per ...., a lawyer can to.

Bring back ‘void for vagueness’.

Surprised no group of docs have created any ‘international waters hospital ship(s)’ yet.
