Pneumodesmus newmani is a species of millipede that lived 428 million years ago, in the Late Silurian.[1][2] It is the first myriapod, and the oldest known creature to have lived on land.[3]
It was discovered in 2004, and is known from a single specimen from Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.[2]

" Ive read pretty much the same thing, except there were flowers in their mouths. Think of how cold it would have to get to freeze and preserve something the size of a mammoth or mastodon. I suppose if they were at the bottom of a mountain that had a huge avalanche, but I dont know if there are such mountains in the area. "The best web site (a hardcover book is also offered) I've see is creationscience.com .......there is a section that gives a theory explaining these flash frozen animals found in Siberia. Of course you need to believe the Noah flood (or at least be open to the flood) story.

I believe this creature lived alongside these cats 30,000 years ago.
Too bad we can't clone it and bring it back to life!

It seems I read somewhere that one of the mastodons in AK was preserved so well that it was cooked up and some of the meat was eaten.

Downdraft, I think, should be the common term but people seem to like microburst.
