Brussels Is Wrong on Guns
The Wall Street Journal ^ | January 27, 2017 | John R. Lott Jr.

Strict new European gun-control regulations will take another step on Thursday when a committee of the European Parliament votes on a set of measures. The Parliament and the European Commission already have agreed to the proposal in principle. Prompted by terrorist attacks in Paris and Copenhagen, these regulations would prohibit the civilian use of most semiautomatic firearms. As is typical of such laws, however, they will do nothing to prevent the kind of attacks being used to justify them.

Many places in Europe have already fallen. If a trip to Europe is on the bucket list, it’s already too late.

Freedom only works with a moral populace - a people who (on the whole) are capable of self-governance.

As a populace because less & less moral, by necessity, freedom is restricted more & more.

An immoral populace requires (in fact demands!) a de facto police state - where private gun ownership has no place.

Of course leftists who claim to be “pro-liberty” don’t see the irony in their anti-gun position (”only the police should have guns!”) - until it is too late.

Perhaps the EU leaders see which way things are heading (but probably not).

Here are some of the leaders:
