TRENTON -- President Donald Trump's executive order temporarily restricting travel from seven majority-Muslim countries prompted Comcast to give its employees paid time off to protest.

Trump's order sparked protests around the country and elicited rebukes from a handful of CEOs of companies that employ tens of thousands of U.S. workers, including Bill Ford, CEO of Ford Motor Company, who took to the airwaves to say the ban "goes against our values as a company."

Comcast, one of the nation's largest telecommunications and media conglomerates, went a step further by giving employees the opportunity to protest.

Sounds like DirecTV sales are going to increase. WTF is it with all these companies pissing off half of their customers?

Glad I cut the cord years ago. Felt grand.

Another reason to hate the cable company.

Corrupt Philly company that has been in bed with Ed Rendell & Co. for years. Not a shock.

I got rid of Comcast last year. Admittedly, it was over poor service and unintelligible Customer Disservice.

Another reason to hate the cable company.

They've topped the list of Ten Most Hated Companies for around a decade now (Facebook is #5)

I recently cut off Cox cable TV ($100/mo) and signed up for Playstation Vue ($35/mo) coming off the Roku & Amazon Fire Stick. It can work on 5 devices at once and has 65 live channels and a built in DVR with the package I got. There are other also other cable TV alternatives like Sling and Youtube Unplugged is coming out soon.

Next I’m going to get an Ooma Telo ($4/mo) and cut off Cox’s home phone bill for the house (another $21+tax per month).

These Cable TV stations should be quaking in their boots at the cheaper alternatives that are out there now than their overpriced services. I predict their profits will fall significantly over the next few years unless they drop their prices, adapt, and innovate on a large scale.

President Trump must have cut off the flow of money to crony capitalists like Comcast and Ford.

Otherwise, I can see no reason Ford or Comcast would want to alienate at least 50%, if not more, of their customers who totally agree with Trump’s immigration orders.

Something made Ford and Comcast mad enough to do this.

They just finished the buyout of Time Warner Cable...unfortunately there is no other hissed internet in my area so I would have to go without FreeRepublic. At least I’m not paying for the TV/Phone, just the internet.

I’m glad I ditched Comcast years ago. Customer service was the pits. I currently have AT&T with DirecTV and I’m somewhat happy. After my contract is up with them I’m planning on doing internet only, possibly through my cellular carrier and use Sling along with my Roku. We only watch really the news, home improvement channels, game shows and Disney through cable and are Netflix viewers most of the time.

No, another reason to stop funding the left by sending them a check every month.

Do these companies get Federal loans, grants, or subsidies? If so, action should be taken against them.

I get paid time off to go fishing. Mine is more fun. In the military the terminology used is “leave”. PTO is called “vacation” or “Sick day”.
