Defense attorneys for the four suspects accused of tying up and torturing a mentally disabled man while they live streamed it on Facebook are complaining that the foursome have received death threats.
'It is sad and unfortunate that many have commented on these young men and women without knowing all the facts,' said Cook County Public Defender Amy Campanelli after a hearing on Friday. 'They have been denounced in the media before anything has been proven.'
She said that 'sensationalized, pervasive media coverage' threatens to poison the jury pool. The only time in my life that I ever had fingernails was the two-month period I worked in the engine room of an LPD, amphibious transport dock, USS CORONADO.
After working in the bilges, stripping and fixing pumps, and scraping down the bricks in the firebox, I really didn't want to bite my nails at the end of my watch.
Its sad and unfortunate that these four subcretins were stupid enough to tape and publicize their horrific crime for the entire world to see? Is that it?
If they get off with THAT defense, the next time anybody wants to shoot somebody, they just have to make sure they take a camera crew with them to film it for the whole world.
Most likely, she was assigned to the case by a judge. In which case, she's doing a heck of a lot better than that (former) Acting U.S. Attorney General.

Whatever happened to ‘my client is guilty and is throwing him/herself on the mercy of the court’? Oh wait, no one is EVER guilty of a crime anymore are they? Even when there is video evidence. I forgot.
Well, for starters, if you plan to keep your law license you don’t enter a plea for your client without consulting them first.
