Starbucks Corp CEO Howard Schultz announced on Monday that the company plans on hiring 10,000 refugees over the next five years to ease the company’s conscience. Bloomberg reported:
Starbucks Corp. Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz, who wrote he had a “heavy heart” over U.S. President Donald Trump’s immigration order, said the company plans to hire 10,000 refugees over five years around the world.
Trump issued an order on Jan. 27 suspending the admission of refugees into the U.S. for 120 days and banning citizens from seven predominantly Muslim countries for 90 days. The directive has been criticized by U.S. allies Canada and Germany.

But the statute does not differentiate between legal and illegal. If they are here “legally” because they are refugees, they are still from specific countries and can’t be selected for favoritism, which discriminates against everyone who isn’t from one of those countries.
And starbucks has toilets for all - dick choppers welcome, dick grafters welcome, normal people stay away.
They don’t seem to learn a thing. I do believe that Chick Fil A is more popular than any other fast food restaurant. That is what I’ve heard/read. And the reason? From hearing among friends and persons.. because of the people they hire to work there (and of course, the chicken).
If that is true, Starbucks should feel the pinch if they do this. Starbucks serve those who don’t mind paying that much for a cup of coffee... and Starbucks serve those who like to show up with that name on their cups... That crowd will either love this idea, or completely reject it.
Some of you on FR may be in that crowd... sorry if I step on toes... I just think it’s catering to the more wealthy among us who go for being served by Starbucks instead of McDonald’s... a social thing ... but will they accept those illegals? We’ll see. Rosie wouldn’t let the poor man sit outside her gated home.. that was not what she preached... but it is who she is. Talk is cheap... living it is not.

I should not have posted this story without reading more carefully. It is indeed worldwide and not directed towards illegal aliens.
Years ago there was a neighborhood in MD that was predominantly Roman Catholic. A realtor in promoting sale of a property there indicated it would be a good home for a Catholic family. Stuff hit the fan as “discriminatory.’ All these bleeding heart do-good CEOs need to learn the law before they get their arses reamed.

Also, are people from the third world countries providing a health certificate, use proper hygiene, etc. I admit being fond of certain fast food places, but I pick and choose. Now I am a real fuddy duddy, and prefer those where the kitchen is exposed and I can see food being prepared. It is shocking to read that our own home-grown servers have been caught deliberately polluting the food served to police officers, and likely people who rub them the wrong way. Caveat emptor.
Starbucks may want to remember they’re a RESTAURANT and not a social cause. If their CEO thinks marketing that appeals to liberals / alienates Conservatives is a good business plan - good luck with that buddy.

What ever do you mean? I cant hire legal U.S. citizens who are white, Christian, European, men to work in my business at the exclusion of people I hold in lower regard?
