Our diplomats serve at the pleasure of our government.
They advance the policies of our nation, and right now Trump sets that diplomatic agenda.
If they can’t climb on board that agenda, they need to go.
Nobody can explain to me in simple terms why a diplomat should be able to champion a policy against the best interests of this nation.
Whether this is such a case or not, there has to be a way to exit a person filling that description. And if there is removal for that, then they are open to being removed for other causes.
This objection is not to your simply relating what you read. I appreciate the mention. I reject that premise.

Hmmm. I have to disagree with most all the comments here.
While I vehemently disagree with these foggy bottom pukes, I think the ability to voice dissent is important. I don’t think it should be allowed as a public venue but I do think it is vitally important that the president have access and exposure to a variety of opinions.
That said, Trump needs to vet and replace the entire SES at State as needed - which is probably 95% of them.
As a postscript, if these are the `rat malcontents who said recently that they would leave federal service if Trump won, like celebrities who promised to move to Canada, State wage earners aren’t celebrities, just hired hands.

The dissent channel is just a way for FSOs to express there disagreement with US policy. If someone finds that they can not support it as part of their official duties, then they should resign or be fired.
Having spent 28 years at State as an FSO, I don't view this as any big deal. The MSM will hype it, but the actual impact on US policy as directed by the President, will be nil.
