If entering into a marriage under false pretenses or under duress can invalidate the marriage contract creating grounds for annulment, why wouldn't a resignation under duress and the election of new pope under false pretenses invalidate that papacy?

Duress most certainly does invalidate both the resignation and the ensuing papal election. However, all that Pope Benedict said in the period between issuing the resignation and it becoming effective leads one to conclude that he resigned freely.

If he was (and still is) under duress, we need a smoking gun from somewhere else. Failing that, the answer to your question "Is Francis Pope?" is "Yes."

If your Pope Benedict could even be blackmailed, that points to a serious problem. Was he better than the current pope? Appears to have been. But, all is not right with Benedict if he was blackmailed.

You are assuming that someone can only be blackmailed if his or her own conduct is questionable. That is not correct.

Someone can also be blackmailed if he or she is trying to protect the reputation of someone else.

"Specifically, we have reason to believe that a Vatican 'regime change' was engineered by the Obama administration,"

More likely, it was the One-Worlders who own and operate the Democrat Party.

Allegedly, they helped topple the secular government in Turkey, and installed Erdogan, an Islamist.

And, of course, there is the "Remove and Replace" regime-changes in Libya, Egypt, Syria and others; intended to install the Muslim Brotherhood as the head of government in those countries.

The coup in Egypt failed; the attempt in Syria has not succeeded; but the One-Worlders and the Islamists will never give up.

Far from being some wild conspiracy theory ...

Sure it is.

Put the Latin American and European Cardinals together and you've got a majority.

They wanted somebody who was European, yet not European, South American, but also Italian.

And that's what they got.

You didn't need any American or Obama or Clinton or Soros intrigue to get the result you got.

From the article:

International monetary transactions with the Vatican were suspended during the last few days prior to the resignation of Pope Benedict.

Then the transactions were resumed the day after he announced his resignation. Coincidence?

I appreciate your thoughtful reply. Francis’ words and actions befuddle me. However, I think I need to stop commenting on him out of charity and February 2nd is as appropriate a date as any. I wonder how he’ll mark the day.

Maybe but there are some accusations that don’t require proof. Look at the US.

I was thinking about this. Maybe the blackmail was not about Benedict personally, but since it could possibly be driven by Americans, it was about the American churches.

Truth does not matter to Podesta, et al.
