... and now he has support in the Senate, where Mitch McConneell has said Congress is moving ahead with $12 billion - $15 billion to build border wall.

It appears Congress is unaware that Trump has renewed his push to get Mexico to pay for the wall.
That said, it is funny how the price suddenly just jumped: did Congress just realize the "wall" is just a different name for Congress' favorite term, "pork"?

Just watched McConnell and Ryan discuss the goals to complete before the August recess. I was impressed, not because of the plan, but because what is now possible because of Trump’s leadership. Everything is now possible, even the House and Senate leadership is starting to believe.
Money well spent.

15 billion for 700 miles of wall = 21.4 million per mile. That’s 4,000 dollars a foot for a wall. That’s one heck of a wall.
I smell a rat. Two actually. Ryan and McConnell are being too loud about this funding. I think they are expecting a filibuster by the Dems in the Senate.
IIRC, there's already a funding available....for immediate use.

Agree...REPUBS OWE TRUMP to vote on his cabinet members and push them through.
I think you can build a monorail or even an Interstate highway cheaper per mile.
What would be interesting is using recycled materials yet still have a barrier resistant to a moderate physical attack.
I do not think it will all be the same, in some areas it will have to be deep, thick and tall, in others just several layers but with immediate responce teams station nearby. or using remote equipment.
Myself if i were tasked with a thinking of how to breach it i would go to Korea and find some NORK tunnel experts.
If the funding gets done through “reconciliation”, the DEMs can’t filibuster it.
Don’t worry about the price of pork. Trump will bring the wall in on time and under budget.
I’m so sick of hearing about “Trump’s” wall... It’s as much my damn wall as it is his!
From now on, I want the news media to report on Trump & Hugh’s big freaking border wall.
