If you are ok with the next Clinton or Obama type not releasing their tax returns while running for office thats great but we [lose] the moral high ground to demand it from others later. I'm totally OK with that, and have recognized this tactic for what it was since its inception. It's just a tool to try to use against conservatives.
If Congress wants to try to impose releasing one's income tax returns as a legal requirement for running for President, assuming it will pass Constitutional muster, then fine.
