US Secretary of State John Kerry called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday from the Paris peace conference, promising to prevent any followup action to a resolution set to be drawn up on Sunday, either at the confab itself or at the United Nations Security Council.
After a month of chilly ties between Washington and Jerusalem, Kerry updated Netanyahu about the steps he was taking to “soften” the text of the final communique, which is expected to be issued by the conference participants later Sunday.

At the end of the day, though, this is about the United States supporting its allies and opposing its enemies. Obama tried to reverse that policy, believing the world would be a better place if America were more humble, and the Muslim world more proud and active.
Not even the Muslims are better off as a result -- their world is in flames.
With only five days left until January 20, I think it's now safe to say the worst is over.

I’m holding my breath until January 20 afternoon! I am relieved to hear Kerry say this, but O/K can do a lot of damage yet.
And people actually believe Kerry? I believe him as far as I can throw him.
I think Bibi pulling Israel’s funding of the U.N. was the biggest contributing factor to the back-down. That and the realization that as soon as Trump gets in office, he and Congress will do the same. The U.N. is over a financial barrel. Trump should pull all funding of the U.N. regardless.

Obviously Kerry has no intention of sharing Obama’s ‘legacy’.
So he'll have a few scapegoats do the dirty deeds and say his own hands are clean. “It wasn't me!” Sad.
He wants to be able to have it both ways if and when he's held to account.
