“They are not employees. It’s a red meat idea that is not enforceable.”

Sure it is, as a condition of access to secured areas.

Wasnt directed at you, was just checking the thread.

As I said, put down the bong. It saps your motivation. It makes you into a loser. You were not meant to be a loser, but that damned bong makes you one.

Random Hell! They should be drug and alcohol tested once every 30 days - House and Senate members as well - White House staff - ALL federal and state employees at every level.

You'd see a lot of jobs opening up.

Yes, yes, yes..A thousand times, yes! Psychiatric meds should not count. They are legitimate. However, pain pills need to count because they disable the frontal lobes of the brain just as heroin does, though some people truly need them. Those people should not be in positions requiring complicated decisions. Here is a quote from what I wrote in response to another topic. It also applies here:

...”Now is the time for those who want truth and real justice for all to stand, regardless of what that means. Begin with drug tests for all those in authority over us, especially the American press and college professors. We know Hollywood is drug infested and consider the source when they rant against morality and values. But, those with legislative, news giving, and judicial power need to account for functioning frontal lobes in order to prove that they are not acting through their “lizard” brains when they do their jobs. Because of my profession, I know the drug culture inside and out and I am telling all who read this that it is highly influential in the sad state of affairs we hear about every day of our lives in our own environments, on our televisions and through our other news sources. When small town America has 9 overdoses in a day and four times that one the weekend, one can only imagine how besotted the masses are who do not come to that kind of attention. I believe substance abuse might the most serious problem we face in this country. Is there any power out there who will face it and clean it up? I say, begin with and identify the users. If they have positions in authority over others, replace them with those who have functioning frontal lobes until such time as they can function and reason from a normal state.”...

How many of the scum bags in the press corps are crapping their britches right now?

How convenient! EVen better than urine sampling: Stool sampling!

As Jonathan Swift observed:

"Because Men are never so serious, thoughtful, and intent, as when they are at Stool, which he found by frequent Experiment: for in such Conjunctures, when he used meerly as a trial to consider what was the best Way of murdering the King, his Ordure would have a tincture of Green; but quite different when he thought only of raising an Insurrection, or burning the Metropolis."

My guess? None. It'd never survive the legal challenges.

I have to take a pee test every time I’m hired. All govt employees should have to do the same, including Congress.

ROFLOL these are the same idiots writing the same fake news stories on legal narcotics causing OD deaths, what they bury is that most abuse other substances as well and that is the true cause of the OD.

Now I am a legitimate Chronic Pain patient with all the medical records to prove it, of the 1.33 Million chronic pain suffers because of a Script (no one bother to tell me it destroyed your bones) drug induced ruined spine must pee in a cup EVERY MONTH to get restricted and reduced amounts of pain meds. And my Primary won’t write them any more I have to go to Pain Management an extra co-pay who doesn’t know sh@t from shinola about my health conditions. Took 9 tries to find a Peripheral Neuropathy that was not on the DEA list before it would work or not cause huge side effects. If I fall I risk a broken hip at least. Already had 2 broken ribs.

Need to test for booze too.

There’s a successful laser therapy for peripheral neuropathy, in the feet at least. There will be some pain to deal with for a period of time as the nerve endings regain sensation, though.
